Wtf is going on with PRV. I thought he was going to be a stud, even though he could still turn out to be one. 8 points in 41 games is a joke, and I don't even care if he played 4th line minutes and no pp. He is too talented to put up that garbage.

As a Sabres fan i have read: Sam Gagner + 3rd for Luke Adam and Leopold
- buffalofan1027

That is not a good trade for the Oilers. Gagner is worth more to EDM than Luke Adam and Leopold. Then throw in a 3rd that has a chance to be a decent pick. I dont see it. Oilers are gonna want a Dman who can play defensive and not be a liability. Sekera makes more sense for EDM but not for Gagner nor PRV. Sekera for maybe a 3rd and some other contract. Oilers would def need to move a contract. Both teams also have alot of bodies on the back end. Sure in Buff theyre more deep with NHL exp contracts.

To be honest, Im happy with the roster we have. I'd like to have a little more grit on the bottom 6 but other then that im happy.
- Oilfan19

If I'm trading it's for top 6 with grit, but mainly a proven top 4 d-man that is in their mid 20's.

Hodgson a "smurf"? He's 6 feet and plays about 190 right now. Not a giant; definitely not a "smurf".
- Vagabond

And yet everyone considers Gagner small at 5'11" 195 lbs.

Lost his confidence should've been sent to the AHL sooner to work on his game. Kid is still young.

Richard since when has buffalo soured on armia? We just signed him to his elc 2 weeks ago. Armia is a huge prt of the sabres future. As is mcnabb. The sabres wont trade either of those guys for gagner, a bubble 2nd -3rd line center who cant play on a consistant basis night in and night out.
- jbrylinsabresfa

Gagner is actually quite consistent. He puts up back to back to back etc 40 + point season. Those numbers are gonna go up the more he gets to play with the growing stars in EDM. With Nuge taking alot of the ice time with Hall/Eb. Gagner needs guys like PRV to start putting up points if hes gonna stick. And for Hemsky to stay healthy. Gagner isnt getting all the big minutes with the studs. But you implement Yakupov. Gagner if not traded is gonna get one of those big 3 to play with. Plus Gagner isnt just a C, He can play RW to.

Well than there is no chance EDM trades him now, he value would be minimal. Unless they don't think he will ever become that top 6 fwd.

You guys should make an offer to Spacek. Hes solid 2way defender. Why trade PRV or Gagner when you can sign someone to get you guys to next summer then see where Klefbom is with another year in SEL. There are Dman options out there to get this team through a year of developing the Dman you have already Drafted.

Hodgson does not weigh 190 & Gagner is def not 195. They always exaggerate height & weight dramatically

That actually sounds like a good fit here. Is he physical? I dont understand how gagner would be a fit with the sabres tho.
- Oilfan19

Adam is somewhat physical ..... hes not wreaking ball. But hes tough and battles hard down low.

Smid/Whitney have injury problems. Smid has also been up and down his whole career.

Petry took a huge step last year, not sure we can really expect more out of him.

Schultz is Schultz. Nick that is.

J.Schultz, he could end up being a project all year.

Then you have the gong show of Peckham, Potter and Sutton. Who know's what those 3 do.

Dubnyk played a big part in that.

Which is another question mark. Past two years running Dubnyk has been below average when games mattered and above average when they meant jack poop.

He could end up being a very good 3rd liner which wouldn't exactly be bad.

Why trade Gagner or PRV for those kinds of trades? It's a terrible misuse of assets.

Gagner for Schneider on the other hand (which Clouts said he WOULDN'T do...)

So do we knock 10 pounds off every player then? Or just the 'small' ones? Silly!

Honestly if you run into some of these guys you can tell they aren't what they are listed at, but what they really are who knows.

What I do know is you can be 5'10 190 and be a physical player who can dish it out. Or you could be 6'4 250lbs and shy away from contact.

Gagner doesn't shy away from contact, but he isn't going to over power many in the league.

No question Van wouldn't do it. I found it a humourous Cloutierism is all. And I'd rather have the cap freedom that not having Lou grants us

He is, but he's still just a #4 at best. If Whitney isn't playing that number 1 role he did a few years back it really trickles down the whole lineup.
