your dumping too much salary on us, we need to give some back - MindFr3eak
Thus why my proposal of Bozak, Ashton and a 2nd works for Lu and Raymond works.
Sub Franson for Bozak, a 3rd for the 2nd, add Lombardi, and remove Raymond.

no ufa, whether getzlaf or any other centre is signing with the Leafs when the scrivens/reimer combo is in net.
so, it could potentially help acquire a #1 centre by having a legitimate number one. - Barx
I agree with this, when we had, Cujo, Belfour we had much more star power signing with us.

I'm not claiming either will get a decent return. The poster claimed that no teams would take them, which is absolute BS.
Luongo is a top 5 goalie in the league.
Raymond at 2.16 is a good pickup for any team. In the right situation he could put up 20g again, and even if he doesn't, he's still a great pker and defensive forward. - Fosco
Quick, Lundqvist, Rinne, Smith, Howard, Kippur, Price, Halak, Lethonen, Schneider, Ward, Miller and Thomas all goalies who I would take over Luongo for next year if I was a GM. Not top 5
Raymond makes 2.275 not 2.16 |

much more realistic and likely what the final deal will look like, unless Vancouver continues to ask for more, in which case they'll get more, but have to take back a crappy contract.

I'm no lawyer Ian, But I think this scenario is illegal under the current CBA. No way the NHL would allow this type of tampering ( and it is tampering, or Cap circumvention or what ever they may deem it) and I doubt the NHLPA would approve either.
Komi is under contract with Toronto and he and his agent are not allowed to have discussions like this with another team. Period. - Iggysbff
If the Leafs allowed it, of course they can. |

With Kesler out for a bit I think van needs a guy who can somewhat fill in at 2nd line till he returns. Thus Bozak would be needed |

And it's not like Lombardi is signed long term - it's one more year. And, given the rest of the summer, and that it's a contract year for him, he could actually rebound. If not, no harm - he's off the books after one season. |

Why would gllis take komi at all(unless its for under a mill) the rest of the deal makes sense. I think leafs keep komi. Its not like they need the cap space. I have been saying Lu for Bozak, Ashton and gunner or Franson for 2 months. Tor gets an all star elite net minder and Vancouver plugs some holes. Sub the conditional pick for Gunner or Franson and it still works - Bieksa#3
I would do, Bozak Ashton, and Franson
Simply because Gunner stablizes Dion.
Franson IMO is better skill wise but Toronto refuses to use him for some idiotic reason. |

Question is scoobs, are you 100% sure YOU make the playoffs without Luongo....

Franson IMO is a wildcard. He has the skill to be a top 4, but he may not have the will. He is terrible in his own end and doesn't use his size.
I am a huge Gunnersson fan. He will never be amazing but he is solid. Sami Salo without the canon and less fragile |

Bieksa#3:
I know you were for this deal:
To TOR: Luongo, Raymond
To VAN: Bozak, Ashton, conditional 1st (19th overall to 30th overall OR 31st overall to 48th overall + 2014 4th)
If Bozak was needed for a replacement for Kesler would you do this instead:
To TOR: Luongo
To VAN: Lombardi, Ashton, conditional 1st
Everyone wins in this deal, Bozak and Raymond have similar value so they cancel nicely, Lombardi is thrown in to potentially even out any loss of return Bozak/Raymond may have had and Vancouver still gets a filler centerman while not losing Raymond at all.
Heck if they would prefer Connolly as a stop gap for Kesler we can switch the conditional 1st for a 2nd.

luongo's value as a goalie has plummeted and the vancouver media/canucks management hasn't done anything to help either.
it's painfully obvious - the guy is old and was signed to a STUPID deal - everybody knows this - the luongo situation is a byproduct of his own mediocre play and a terrible management plan that completely lacked foresight. burke and company are driving this bus, not the vancouver management team. to believe otherwise is insane.
the hypocrisy and the contradictions are crazy - an old, mediocre goalie with a bizarre contract who was betrayed by his own team when it mattered most (and justifiably so - because he's mediocre) all of a sudden has the value of a king's ransom...
vancouver isn't doing toronto any favours by ditching this geezer on them... it's the other way around... and that should be reflected in any kind "trade", for lack of a better word... in my mind vancouver would be lucky if toronto took this geezer for nothing!!!

He is not terrible in his own end, there was an article proving that, I can't find it but it used Corsi and all that. It showed Toronto was a much better team when he was on the ice rather than off.
Edit: He has also spent the entire summer with a power skating coach. |

Your getting a elite goalie for depth players. You guys have the cap space this season anyway. If you want, throw in Connolly but u can't take any of the other players out - Bieksa#3
I'm surely alright with that proposal, franson for Luongo, (frank) it....done deal!!
