I'm aware Edler had a bad second half of the season, but that was a combination of his own back issues (still a bit concerning, I'll admit) and the fact that Salo is about as durable as a 70 year old woman with osteoporosis and couldn't handle 2nd pairing minutes.

If Edler played the way he did the first 35 games of the season, for the entire year, he would have beaten Karlsson out for the Norris. How can you not be optimistic about that kind of potential in a 26 year old?

You overrate Brewer more than I overrate Edler.

LA's defense didn't miss a beat without JJ and he was constantly criticized for his horrible defensive play. He's similar to Phaneuf, both overrated.

I think all world is maybe getting a bit carried away. I'm surprised he is doing well though. Fans tend to be harder on their players. Look no furthur then our 3rd/4th line. We eat them alive but they are decent. Look at the devils. They had an amazing 4th line. 2 of them were career minor league players and the other has been through a half a dozen teams and never stuck.
