Signing Doan for 4 years makes even less sense. If Doan signs here for that kind of term at the rumored cap hit prior to a lockout, Gillis should be fired on the spot. - GhostOfDCT
It's looking like no one will be signing anything in the near future, unless it's a contract in Europe. The CBA shenanigans have completely frozen this summer. |

I don't go to bars, would rather drink at the in-laws beautiful backyard, thus no refusal of service. But it wouldn't surprise me! - LeftCoaster
I'm usually there in the winter—not exactly backyard weather, but I don't frequent the bar too often when I'm there, either. My brother has a nice entertainment setup in his living room, so it's a pretty drink-friendly zone. |

Never had that prob myself in Guelph wearing my nucks gear.... - chompsey
That's the only time I've been refused service, but I've had other minor altercations, and any hockey conversation doesn't last much longer than "I'm a Canucks fan..."
I live half an yr from Guelph and have never had a problem. - Bieksa#3

While they are still the majority, leafs fans aren't that dominate here anymore. 20 yrs ago 3/4 of hockey fans were leaf fans. Now I bet its no higher then 1/3. |

Yup. Rest of my family is in Kitchener. I'm from there originally, but moved to BC in 1990. |

Oh, I know. Lots of people who were Leaf fans when I lived there, or even into the mid/late nineties aren't anymore. |

Wingham? Yeah I've heard of it. It's not too far from Mt. Forest? |

Never been to Wingham, but if it's anything like Mt. Forest (closest I've been), it's probably a nice little town. |

Wayne Simmonds just signed a six-year contract extension worth $4 million per. If Simmonds get $4m per then what does Alex get?
I'm guessing 6 years at $4.5 per |

Entering mid-August and with training camps slated to begin in a month’s time, there’s a surprising number of talented young restricted free agents yet to re-sign with their respective teams.
Topping the list are forwards Jamie Benn (Dallas Stars), Ryan O’Reilly (Colorado Avalanche), Evander Kane (Winnipeg Jets) and Tyler Ennis (Buffalo Sabres), along with defensemen P.K. Subban (Montreal Canadiens), John Carlson (Washington Capitals), Michael Del Zotto (New York Rangers) and Dmitry Kulikov (Florida Panthers).
That's quite a long list. CBA anyone? |

If Lu goes to the leafs we'll never hear the end of it from our amigos to the east. - bloatedmosquito
I'm banning every one from both teams if that trade ever goes down.
It could be the most even trade possible and Leafs fans will reply with:
Then you go into a Canucks message board and Canuck fans will say:
As much as I'm terrified that the trade will happen...it's going to happen. |

There was a Leafs poster the other day who was psyched about the potential of a season long lockout, since the Leafs would get a decent shot at 1st overall. That's how bad it seems to have become: Some Leaf fans don't even want hockey to be played if it might miraculously make their team better. - micah555
It literally is that bad.
Granted, he's the homer of all homer leafs fans; but he actually had a good point.
If there is no lockout, Burke will probably make a trade to try and save his job to the effect of getting Luongo which would catapult the leafs out of the basement and into 7-9 spot range...otherwise known to Leafs fans as "Nik Antropov territory".
If there is a lockout then for once in a Leafs fans life there's nothing management can do to screw up a VERY high draft pick.
Obviously I'd prefer there'd be no lockout, given that I'm a hockey fan first and a Leafs fan 3rd (Team Canada comes 2nd). But you gotta see it from how incredibly frustrating it is to be a leafs fan in that you need something to happen that simply doesn't allow Burke and the Leafs to screw up the high pick.
I don't fully support it, but I 100% understand it. |
