Serious question can you ban eklund if you wanted to? Just curious
- pker2theend

I'd almost recommend it if there's another blog (creative or otherwise) about Luongo to the Leafs.

EDIT: You said Eklund, not Ian.

That's it's the worse drivel in all of HB (quite the achievement). If you doubt it, you have the preceding 21 pages as evidence.

This can't hold a candle to the "where will Forsberg sign" crap we all lived through.

No, mods aren't able to ban admins or bloggers. We can delete their posts or lock the threads, but we can't do any more than that.

This is pure insanity! Why waste space with such mind numbing idea's? Keep Luongo! He's not needed in Leafs Nation. Next time you want to kick him to the curb, put a bag tag on him!

Anyone catch Fehr's media press after today's meetings?

Doesn't take a genius to see who's winning the PR war this time around. Unless the league pretend like they never sent out that first wish list and counter with a meaningful proposal of their own, this lockout will be entirely on the owners.

Although I heard he might actually prefer Colgate, he's at least narrowed down his alternative options to Sensodyne, Aim, and Crest.

I can only speak for one Leafs fan (although the best looking, smartest one with the best dog).

I would like to see Luongo on the Leafs this year: if the price is right.

And that's a very low price.

Like a Komi, D'Amigo and a 3rd kinda price.

Is he a good goalie? Yes.

Is he top 5? In my opinion, no.

Is his contract as bad as many say? Once again, in my opinion, no.

But let's make no mistake about it: most teams don't like the idea of being on the hook for an extra $7 million, when you run the very real risk of the guy not being able to do it anymore.

The Leafs can assume this risk; it's just money. But there really aren't any other franchises around that are willing to do this: the Rangers have no interest, neither does Philly, nor does the Habs. Florida isn't willing to assume this financial risk (sorry, but they aren't).

A 1st round pick is a non-starter. Especially now that it looks like free agency is going to be pushed back a few years.

We can't afford to give you good roster players. We can't afford to give you good prospects.

So it's really a handful of not much for Luongo. If that doesn't get it done (and I'm not saying it will), then so be it. Vancouver can start the season (whenever that happens) with two #1s in the stable.

Leafs can start with Reimer and Scrivens, or someone else.

But drop the idea that the Leafs need Luongo badly - our current #1 centre is Tyler Bozak. It's not going to be a Stanley Cup season, so there really isn't a pressing need to get a #1 goalie.

I wouldn't mind it one bit. Luongo at the TDL would be very sought after.

Come on VANTEL, nobody is trolling here and you know it. So quit throwing out the baseless accusations.

I really don't care how much Vancouver spends on their goalies, but can you really argue that having $5M sitting on your bench makes complete sense and is an ideal situation for the Canucks? As far as burying Luongo or shipping him over to Sweden, we both know that's horse poop and maybe YOU should stop "coming in here and talking the same BS day after day!"

Secondly, why do Vancouver fans care about Toronto's goal tending situation? Because you think the Leafs/Burke are desperate and the Canucks have the answer by way of getting a poopty contract off their hands in the process?

As for the same BS everyday, maybe you should talk to Esplen about trying to be a little more "creative" with his topic selection. This is what's placed before us, so this is generally what's going to be discussed? Get it?

- As_I_See_It

It makes a lot of sense to be truthful.

1) If Schneider was a one year wonder (which I doubt ) then we still have a starting goalie.

2) It secures the fact that 75 out of 82 games approx we will have solid goaltending

3) While other teams act like big shots now and realize they will not make the playoffs because their goaltending is below par, and see thei #1 goalie playing backup, then they will raise the bar of the trade value.

So yes I see Luongo staying as long as it takes.

No idea where the middle ground is or if it's even with the leafs but but Luongo on the bench will blow up in everyone's face really fast.

Not sure there is any option for Gillis but to made a deal with someone to trade Luongo before the season starts.

Questionis right now, If there is a lockout, let's say 1full year how much less is Luongo worth at that point?

It supposed to be a temporary thing. Then we are meant to clean up the issue and restart the thread. Can't just close 'em. Besides, Cloutier's probably got a whole folder full of blogs. He'd just throw another one up.

I don't get the leafs fans argument about having Lou on the bench.. if that your opinion fine, but don't include komi, Lombardi and Connolly in your offer because they are gonna be sitting in the same place. Bozak, Ashton and one out of Finn/Franson/Percy. That's more then fair for both sides.

Given the fact that Lou can be placed on waivers and claimed by clb, Mr luongo has less leverage then most think in this situation.
