I like how you backed up your reasoning with logical facts. Oh wait, sorry you're a Canuck fan. Blind homerizm then. Good show.
- Isles_since_6

A few of your posts on this blog suggest you shouldn't critisize the logic of another poster.

1st off the cap hit never changes. But I do agree the ,omi thing is just foolish
- Bieksa#3

Sorry, my mistake.

So this would translate into Luongo's cap hit + Komi's cap hit for 4 years at $9.83M and just Luongo's $5.33M for the final 6 years of the contract?

I'm pretty sure Lu would get waived thus leading to his retirement over the final 4 yrs. Actual payout would be so small he would want the embarrassment. But yes the komi thing is a head scratcher

Dude you haven't provided one fact in 12 pages, so I'm not sure why you're being so critical.

Lu won't get wiaved. Gillis has too much respect for him to do that. At some point someone will blink - either Gillis of one of the teams interested.

Bozak is a Ufa next yr as well I think. I just think he is a better fit a 3rd line center once Kesler returns and it leaves van with much more cap space.

EASY TO resign also, regardless of the team a current powerhouse is always a good choice to sign with if they will have you.

Right, all I do is show Luongo stats from the past 5 years and compare them to all those goalies stats and then buddy comes back with... "well he was on a better team". No thanks, not wasting my time.

How's the lighthouse coming?

jesus christ Ian. Don't you think by now if Ballard or Raymond had any kind of value at all that the Canucks would have moved them just to get rid of the contracts?

It's beyond laughable that you continue to include them in trade offers as though other teams wanted them.

Luongo's contract is terrible.
No team wants to take it on and deal with the last 5-6 years when he's declining. Yet somehow you think you can get value back AND add in another crappy contract as well? What dream world are you living in?

- Isles_since_6

More shallow thinking. Luongo's contract is not terrible (with one rider): 5.3 cap hit for an elite goalie is a good contract, in fact. Now the rider, of course, is the term. If he were to play out the full term then there might be a concern. Most 'hockey people' seem to think that Luongo is more likely to play no more than 6 years. I find that a much more realistic look than your (and others) flat out blanket statement of a "terrible/horrible" contract.

So Luongo is a top 5........which makes Schnieder a top 4........

1) Lundqvist
2) Renne
3)Quick
4)Schnieder
5) Luongo

I wonder what......Kipper,Ward,Price,Brodeur,Smith, would think of this analysis.

i would put all ahead of both Vancouvers Goalies

I'm sorry but in what world can Lombardi contribute on the 2nd line of a decent team. Bozak, Ashton and one of Percy, Finn, and Franson.

last 4 yrs are $3.3M, $1.6M, $1M, $1M.

How the (frank) did they get away with that anyway. Circumvented that cap right up the ass with that one.

- Big_Lightnin

Fact: the Luongo contract did not circumvent the cap. It was looked at and deemed fine. Don't make stuff up -- there's enough of that going on here!

Luongo will not be traded to the Leafs, no matter how "creative" the deal is. Period. /End thread.
- fiveandagame

1st off you have no idea

2nd off you have no idea

3rdly, seriously man, were not part of any negotiations and neither you or I have any real idea of what the (frank) is going on right now.

So really you and this conjecture is moot, lets stick to biased team fan based unrealistic trades......

You must be forgetting the "everyone wants to help the leafs rule" the only way to work out a deal is give them something for nothing afterall the most important thing is caphits as all players are generic and I'm sure Reimer and Scrivens are fully capable of playing the same level Lou always does....

Love the picture, looks like BB is carrying little Gary's books to school and making sure he doesn't get bullied.

Meanwhile, Nonis is skipping rope somewhere in the background.

I count 4 bosak, aston one of finn percy AND franson.

If you ment 3 cool, sounded like 4 of the 5, you won't get bosak ashton and another roster player, maybe a second or something but not 3 roster players, trades rarely work this way in real life without it being multiple players on multiple teams.
