Funny, just got into an arguement last week with you over your classless remarks about holmgrens substance abuse problems. Seriously classy considering it was barerly 24 after andy reids son died.
Also i've never been banned, and i've been around for 2+ years on just the one account.

yea that one is great, the pat cheeseteak thing, oh yea fights only happen in Philadelphia, btw dont know if anyone remembers that video but after the fight (granted the Flyers fans involved were wrong for having too many men on the ice) a rangers fan hands the main FLyers fan involved his coat back. so that thing wasn't just about the guy wearing a Rangers jersey. Was just the result of too many idiots in the wrong place at the same time.

Not a distinct enough shadow on the ground to make one squint, please try again.

I understand Pronger is possibly out for good when it comes to hockey but has there been an update to his general health recently? Last I have read was he was still having trouble driving at night and flying. Just curious.

There is nothing in the code of conduct about being classy. And there's always a first time if you don't remember that there IS something in the code of conduct about treating Blogger and Other Posters with respect. So let's try not to escalate here, mmkay.

Not that I've heard. I do recall them saying he had been involved in consulting on the construction of the offer sheet for Mr. Weber.

That's what it always is. Drunk morons find any excuse to get into a fight, regardless of the city they live in. Same goes for racist morons a la the incident in Boston after Joel Ward's OT winner. In general, Bruins fans are not classless.

Bill, in your opinion, what do you think Bourdon's potential is? Do you think he has top 4 defenseman potential in this League?

- MJL

A year ago, I'd have said I doubt it, and I'd be happy if he simply became a serviceable fill-in at the NHL level. But I think he took a big jump in his third pro season before the concussion issues. If he improves at a similar clip next season, yes, I think he can be a top-four. If his continued improvement falls a bit shy of that, he's at least a top 6. He still needs to read-and-react a bit faster, but he came a long way in that area last season compared to where he was before.

- BillMeltzer

I agree. Bourdon isn't likely to reach that level. But you never know.

- MJL

So, let me get this straight... Bill says of Bourdon "If he improves at a similar clip next season, yes, I think he can be a top-four".

And you spin it to mean: "I agree. Bourdon isn't likely to reach that (top 4) level."

How does "yes, I think he (Bourdon) can be a top four" become "(Bourdon) isn't likely to reach that top 4 level" ????

So, despite your weak attempt at spin, Bill actually agrees with me, that with continued progression and development, Bourdon has the potential to be a top-four.

Oh really? Cool to see that they still value his opinion and that he is staying in contact with the franchise.

Was not in response to Bill's post. It was in response to:

I know I am not Bill, but I dont think he has top 4, long term potential. I think he would do well in spot duty, and if he shot continues to develop could be a nice secondary option on the point for some PP time, but I dont think he has the mental or physical "quickness" that you need to be a top 4 guy.

One of the issues guys with head injury problems deal with is a sense of isolation. The Flyers have been good in the past few years at doing what they can to continue to support guys like Hatcher and Lappy and now Pronger.

He may not be trying to spin it. He could agree with Bill but then state his opinion that he thinks MAB isn't likely to be come a top 4 dman. The first part and second part of his comment might be unrelated. That would be giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I really like both gus and bourdons game, i think they both can grow into solid, nhl defenseman. Maybe they won't ever be what you consider top pair guys, but to me they could pair with a strong d first player like grossman and be a #4 d-man.

In fact, he goes on to agree with Bill that it would take an equal jump in development to last season for MAB to be a top 4 defenseman. I really don't see the trouble here, it seems like drama for the sake of drama.

Hey, the way things are we gotta give them a shot. Maybe one (or both) really make the leap. Necessity is the mother of invention, etc.
