Good ol Patty Kane up to his usual tricks last night at a bar (Roxy's) owned by a childhood friend of mine.

Trying to pick up another one of my childhood friends daughters Ashley bwahahahah. She laughed in his face and told him that I hope one day you learn how to treat a woman. Ashley just won Miss Buffalo swimsuit competition. Pat had no chance! Bwahahah.

If I was a drunk I would probably be dead by now. 2 of some of my best friends growing up own 2 of the most happening bars around in Bada Bings and Roxys.

Thank God I dont need to use alcohol as a crutch to get through life.

The idea of Trading Vanek for Ryan is dumb, you want to add to your team to improve it not just substitute players. Vanek is a power forward that will score 30 - 40 goals for you. Add Ryan and your team improves as long as you dont give up a player of Vanek's cloth. Adams, propects, a Dman and draft picks yes,,,,, Vanek No.

So clearly I would never appreciate nor back a trade involving Vanek for Ryan.

I would rather have Vanek than Ryan anyways.

Vanek has dome more with less (talented players around him) than Ryan has.

You may want to add Ryan to a team with Vanek but, if moving Vanek is the only way to get Ryan, I'd do it. An upgrade is an upgrade. Plus, I wouldn't consider Vanek a power forward. Ryan I would. He plays a better all around game, is younger and has a better cap hit. Now, if I was the Ducks, there is no way I'd trade Ryan for Vanek

Vanek is a power forward that has not had a center to compliment him. he goes the front of the net, takes a beating, has a great shot, is big and stong and can skate.. sounds like a power forard to me. You have to add talent to your exisiting talent to go for the cup within the next two years. Swaping talent simply keeps you even.

No because Vanek would be IMO a better goalscorer if you put him on the wing with a highly skilled center like Ryan. For years now Vanek has had to play next to mediocre, 2nd tiered players. Put him with, say, Ryan and Pominville and see his numbers go up. Gee, I remember one time lindy put him on a line with Gaustad and Kaleta.

I will have to say, myself, 89, Pario, Cabin, and others have been around here for a long time. But this site (Garth's) has become more about music video's, pics and has gotten away from the real hockey aspect of the site.

Vanek doesn't fit my definition of a power forward. I think Vanek would be better playing under a different coach. Under Ruff, Vanek is very one dimmensional. Besides that, I just think Ryan is a better all around player. The age and cap hit would seal the deal for me.

It doesn't really matter though, I can't see the Ducks even entertaining the idea

I think a move like that also continues to change the culture of the team here, which is something that a lot of people around here have been saying needs to happen. Agreed. I don't dislike Vanek. I would like to see how he would do playing under a different coach. I just think that with the way the Sabres are presently constructed, we could use guys that play Ryan's style of game. Whether it's Ryan himself or another comparable is irrelevant
