Two weeks ago I envisioned a Weber/Meszaros pairing, now I have images of a Manning/Lilja/Gervais/Bourdon/Gustafsson Chinese fire drill dancing through my head.

Two weeks ago I envisioned Stacey Kiebler and Brooke Burke tying me up in a pretzel factory style knot.

Now, well, nothings changed.

this is a whole other conversation, bottom line we all agreed to the COC here, and if we disagree there's nothing making us come to this site, there are several other sites on the internet that will allow you to make a fool of yourself. IF that's you're thing then by all means... As for the laws in RL yes there are bullpoop laws, having worked in our criminal justice system I can attest to this, however they are laws and when we break them we should only blame ourselves for staring through a pane of glass in a 6x9 room made of cinderblocks. No system is perfect either but we live in a pretty damn good one... for now.

i disagree we don't live in a very good system

our prison system is over crowded to hell and broke
in addition we jail more people than most small countries

i could go on and on but i'll just leave it at that our country was founded on disobeying laws that didn't make sense

also the internet is owned by the people and not one person so we're free to do as we like

Exactly. Don't call anyone an offensive name. Simply post an Internet picture or GIF file to replace the insult. Let's be mature.
- Daman

look i've dealt with a lot of personalities in my travels, I know the game you're trying to suck me into here but guess what, you got coming to what you got coming to you, so when one day you log on and a message in so many words tells you you're perma-band, don't say I didn't tell you so. Quite frankly, I've tried talking sense into you but you're at the stage in life where you think you know everything to that I say good luck because take it from me, learning the hardway, is just that, hard. Have fun, and cheers!

There can never be enough 6/7 defenseman on a roster.

History tells us that is true. That defensive depth is a good thing. You know what else is a good thing? Competition for roster spots and playing time.

There is the silver lining to the Meszaros injury. Competition for playing time amongst fringe NHL level players.

I can actually agree with this to an extent but the issue with this post is, no you don't have freedom to do whatever on any site, especially when you agreed to act within certain protocol. You know this and choose to play it to the edge, I don't mind it from you for the simple fact that when you do get banned I don't read 15 pages of whining about it when you comeback.

I thought you were gonna say Homer can't package him and Read in dumb trade for a player we don't need.

I disagree. That wasn't changed by the Meszaros injury. That competition for playing time was still going to be there regardless. The potential silver lining is that one of those "fringe NHL players" as you put it, can take the opportunity and run with it. And prove that maybe they are more then they were thought to be.

So how do want to look at it? With pessimism and negativity. And whine repeatedly about it? Or with optimism and a positive attitude?

Can I guess which perspective you'll choose?

i'm not complaining about being banned on this account
EULAs are the equivalent of toilet paper they say a lot of things but really they don't have any meaningful binding
if people can't handle the freedom of the internet then it might not be the best place for them

Nah. No sense in making any trades out of desperation now. Trading a 20+ goal scorer in Read who can play in all situations makes little sense imo, sure Ryan is a better player than Read, but what they provide for their respective cap hits, give me Read every day of the week.

This is a deep draft, hold on to the picks, only way trading picks for a d-man makes sense is if he is fairly young and in the plans long term. Throwing picks at rentals such as Kubina is bad business.

not sure i get what you mean with the whole EULA toilet paper bit, have to forgive me I don't even know what EULA stands for. However the last sentence is pretty good but that's a double edged sword. For instance I'm pretty sure the owner of this site wants to keep a certain level of decency, there's nothing wrong with that. Second of all this a hockey site the main topic should be about Hockey. Furthermore when people are driven away by an excess of obnoxiousness and bullying it's bad for business. Not everyone thinks the same and that's part of being in a society; acting in a manner that we can all get along with one another whether it's online or in RL. Thing is in RL alot of individuals would be visiting the dentist quite frequently if they carried themselves the way they do in here out there. 16 years between the Military and working in a Max prison makes me kind of an expert on this.

u have to consider how much he improves the team vs how much you detriment the team in subtracting the players for him. It really is all about opinion and preference but imo Keep Read and Mez go get Ryan when he's a FA in a couple years, team will have plenty of players in their prime.

EULA = end user license agreement it's the "terms" you agree to to use some software
EULAs have been debunked to bs

i doubt a lot of people would be visiting the dentist because that's assault and to beat on someone because of how they are is bigotry

maybe people just need to learn how to accept others for who they are not how they want others to be

also some bullies and obnoxious people here are protected which is more evidence to ignore anything like a COC/EULA

it depends on if you want short term or long term success i think acquiring a player like ryan would be a both a short term and long term play

when did i ever say assaulting people was ok?
all i'm saying the only thing you're allowed to say in EULAs is pretty much don't break any laws using the software

telling someone how it is isn't breaking the law that's 1st amendment

ah yes you have to analyze the utility he brings vs what you give up but to say any trade for ryan would be a bad one is wrong

u didn't but you said how there are stupid laws, so suppose someone thinks the laws on assault are stupid, what makes you any better for breaking laws that you think are stupid?

he doesn't bring anywhere near enough that trading a similar player in goal production and a regular top four defensman would be feasible.
