definitely wasn;t 18 maybe just maybe 27 I was thinking it was our friendly neighborhood policeman. Oh well. Ghost will always have the sub-tag wood nymph now.

I like your reasoning. So would you consider moving Couts to the forward slot in top line and Schenn to the blue line? Or someone else at the point?
- TheGreat28

idk

if its a forward they have to have good decisions and good wheels

It will be a trial and error thing I guess to start the season

There just can't be. I know that's not a very substantial reason but it's just how I feel. They have to know the timing is terrible for another lockout, just as they are starting to have success growing and all.

test of confidence besides I didn't say who was doing the kissing, I have wide variety of female acquaintances he can choose from. I'm sure I can set something up

Well, projections like this are inherently speculative in nature, so, of course it could be considered a "stretch" to peg him as such today, but I've seen certain attributes and abilities from him that tell me he has that top four potential. IMO, it's just a question of him staying healthy and getting the opportunity, in time, to develop into that role.

Defensively, I was very impressed at Bourdon's ability to neutralize attacks into the zone by using his stick and physical game against the likes of Eric Staal and other top players. He also showed good awareness in defending players in the slot, often using his considerable strength, quick stick and positioning to negate potential tip ins/deflections. He's also showed coolness under pressure, making a number of heady plays to get the puck out of the zone.

Offensively, I think he's only scratching the surface of what he can do. He was a top scoring D man in Junior and thus far in the NHL has only shown flashes of his abilities in the offensive zone. He's got a pretty good shot, as evidenced by his leading the flyers D men with .36 goals per 60 mins of icetime (5v5). Also noteworthy was his being just behind Timonen for second on the team on offensive zone finishes.

From what I can gather, he's a good character guy...he'll stick up for his mates and throw down if needed and is a nice, humble and respectful guy off the ice.

From what I've seen, I think if he can avoid recurring injury (esp. concussion related), Bourdon projects as a solid second pairing D man once he further develops and matures. I hope it's with the Flyers. We'll see how things play out.

My feelings exactly. Adding in the fact that Lavy had given MAB more ice time & responsibilities than Gus or Manning last year. Marc might have the edge going into camp to land that last spot. Though once camp starts it's anyone's game.

It's been done twice already under Bettman, I won't rule it out for a 3rd time. He's shown it's not scared to do it no matter how bad it can or will hurt the game.

Especially with that Team USA Victory. Nice game. But the kid is going to have to put on about 15-20 pounds of muscle just to not get killed out there. Still, looks like a good pickup for a 3rd rounder.

If it never happened before or only 1 time under his watch I'd be more open to the other view, but when history shows us something else I find it harder to argue against it.

I just remember a long rant where someone said they drafted a wood nymph etc. etc. At that time i was like watch this kid turn some heads this very summer and be a regular roster player in 2-3 years

Name that free agent:

Big, highly mobile defender has easily the most offensive upside of any blue-liner in the draft. Hardly had to break a sweat this year while putting up outstanding numbers. Didn’t often perform at the top of his game - played nearly 30 minutes a night and seemed to pace himself. Is most effective when he forcefully takes the puck and heads up ice, leading the break and creating dangerous odd-man rushes. Has the ability to undress opponents as he goes end-to-end. Excellent vision and can make plays at top speed. A top-notch PP quarterback with a hard shot who makes good decisions in puck distribution. Still a work in progress in own zone, but improved steadily in both physical play and positioning as the year progressed. While he lacks explosive speed, he has good agility and his overall mobility is above average. Projection: #1 defenceman for a good team.

I know he's had his struggles but I'd rather sign him cheaply and see what he can do. I hate these JBo rumors. Paying a guy 7 million dollars to do what Bourdon can do doesn't seem very smart.

You never know with a player, as player projections aren't an exact science. But he projects to a 3rd pair defenseman in the League, not a top 4 defenseman.
