If there is a lock out whether it is 2 weeks or 2 months, I say the Leafs just Tank hard........super top heavy draft for skill forwards, plus we have 8 trillion in expiring contracts......

I'm not sure what the lockout has to do with that idea....

And like the leafs had to try and to get a good pick anyway.

Not true.

All Berezin did was skate fast up the middle than deak quickly to the right or left and shoot.
It was affective for a few years until players caught on.

- Fakepartofme

oh god dont remind me of when he actually carried the puck

he never passed the damn thing

he was the complete and total opposite of kaberle in that regard

but i still stand by the fact that berezin benefited from having sundin on his line (maybe PP line.. but you know what I mean)

im not sure what they are going to do with bozak if they get that #1 C.

hes not fit for a shutdown role, i do agree on that. unless of course he was with 2 beasts on his wing, then perhaps his smaller size COULD get the job done.

- big_dion

the coach is carlyle who is a hard core line matcher

so against the rangers it would be bozak vs richards, the pens: crosby, the caps: ovie, the canes: staal, ottawa: spezza, philly: giroux, tampa: stamkos...

i think you get what i am trying to say here.. i just dont think bozie is capable of shutting guys like that down...maybe if he added 10-15lbs so he could lean on them.. but as of right now.. i think he would get owned

Bozak has already played against them. I remember seeing him take faceoffs against, Richards, Spezza, Thornton, Toews.

What do they do, let him take the faceoff then pull him?

for sure he did. when you have home ice advantage you put your scoring line out vs the the opposition top lines to get away from the more defensive players.. try to take advantage of a draw in the opposition zone.

but in a pure defensive role.. where his job is to shut those guys down.. he would be out matched.. i mean really.. who is going to win a battle for the puck in the middle of the ice.. bozak or staal?

staal would win that battle 95% of the time

I it's not small IMO most guys in the league are 6'-0" to 6'-2" 200 - 215

Not a huge diff.

no doubt, and he has gone vs those guys, and thats why that line can score a lot of goals, but also gives up a ton.

i noticed some teams WOULD match vs leafs #1 line because they had confidence they could shut down but also rip them apart defense wise. which was very true, i cant remember how many goals our 1st line scored, but we had a lot against too.
