Holland has shown himself to be conservative the last couple of years, face it,NO WAY NO HOW does Calgary get any of Helm, Franzen, Filpulla or Nyquist for Bouwmeester. They are part of our core and a two year rental overpriced d-man for one of those will never, ever ever happen.
That said, I would love to have Bouwmeester. He is overpriced and if we could get him for a combo of Mursak, Tatar, Andersson and/or picks, he would be a nice addition. If they want more than that, just say screw it and sign Coliaocovo and be done. He could be had for a couple of mill a year and no return to the blues.

This is exactly what the Flames want... a bidding war for JayBo. There are multiple teams out there that need to upgrade defense. Feaster will start pitting them against each other. Beware, Ken Holland won't play that game. He'd go into the regular season with the team he has currently. He'll evaluate them and make appropriate changes by the trade deadline.

I agree, he does have value. His contract is high but for only 2 more seasons there are probably more than a few teams willing to take it on. However, given the Flames management team is trying to push this team into the playoffs, I would suspect they are looking for help up the middle in return. I don't think they will part with JBO just for picks or prospects (unless they are good ones).
