Bettman thinks Crosby makes too much but he makes over 7 mil a year. Then again I think they all make too much. They should be working second jobs to make a living. Not winning the lottery every year they play something they love. |

Calgary needs to unload the cap hits and older players now and get a jump start on a rebuild. They have decent young players and if they deal J-Bo, Kipper and Iggy now, they can get some serious youth and 1st rounders in return. It's something to think about....then again, it's obvious Feaster is not prepared to do that with the recent acquisitions of Hudler and Wideman. With Iggy and Kipper gone, there's a good chance the Flames are in the McKinnon sweepstakes next summer...... - Phenom
Ok man.....we get it. It's not gonna happen. |

Have you seen the Mule's contract lately? He'll be a Flame. They love contracts that cripple them cap-wise. - GOODPLAYA20
Have you looked at his contract at all? He gets just over 3.9 and he's brilliant.
Wake up.
Whoever trades for bouw should pay out the ass Calgary deserves to be a top team. |

I had to post something just so there'd be two people from Fernie on the same page....so, speaking of Doan, if he really wanted to help the Coyotes he/they should negotiate a sign and trade with somebody and get them some good young players/prospects/picks. win/win |

So let me get this straight. For whatever reason, the Flames are better than everyone else and deserve to be good more than anyone else. Therefore, teams should be willing to give up a king's (frank)in' ransom for their soft, overpaid and overrated defenseman. That's basically what you're telling me. Well, life is certainly a lot more fun when you stop using logic. |

My guess... for what it's worth is that the flames would get Filppula and a pick or prospect. No way are they getting Helm (that's a pipe dream) and I doubt they will get Franzen as he's Detroit's only real power forward who can score. The only way the Wings would give up Franzen is if they were getting top talent (as in Yandle which ain't gonna happen). Even if the Wings get JayBo they still need another defenseman. I think they should try and get Roszival. |

Still find this pretty unlikely. I don't doubt that teams are interested but I don't see how a logical deal gets done. Other teams likely aren't willing to give up much for him due to his bad contract and the Flames don't have to trade him. |

If there's a lockout, it is 100% the owners' fault, there is zero reason for it to happen |

Ken Holland is pretty desperate to fill the holes on defense. I have no doubt he's looking hard at Boumeester. I can see a deal happening if he's willing to part with Fils and a good prospect (Calgary needs some young talent). The Wings have a ton of cash to spend... so Boumeester's cap hit won't faze the Wings at all. |

I'm quite surprised Babchuk is still on the team to be honest. Wouldn't be surprised if he hit the waiver wire early in the season. |

Unless the Wings can get him for a bottom 6 forward and a B level prospect (like Ferraro) and/or a pick (not a 1st rounder), let him play somewhere else. |

If it's true about Philly putting together an offer...that must suck, trying hard to get Weber and having to settle for Bouwmeester. |

It must really suck being unable to keep raiding Nashville for their pending UFAs. I cannot imagine Bouwmeester surviving more than a season in Philly given his height/weight/style ratio. The fans will be calling for dizzy cyclops Pronger. You just know, too, that Philly will have a 6 year extension lined up if they get him. Don't they already have 8 roster defensemen?

Maybe Helm, Nyquist and a pick? its tough to put a price on Bouwmeester's value or a reasonable return - fudd1689
