Clearly Feaster regrets parting with Ian White. Throw in Cleary and the Jim Nill PDF "How to Manage the Salary Cap" and it sounds like a standard Feaster deal.

Anyone want Paul Stastny?

When are the Sharks going to extend a tryout offer to Theo Fleury?

Can I see some good NHL players in Switzerland during the lockout, or do I have to go to Sweden again? Not that I mind.

Helm aint going nowhere.
They just resigned him to a 4yr deal, and he was sorely missed during the playoffs last year. I would not rule anything out, but I would dare to say he is the most underrated cog in the forward unit and is highly touted within the organization... last year we were in that series until Helm went down, then we know what happened. Not to mention the role he played in 2009. He is the new "Draper".

Filpulla
Although he had a big season, if you ask Wings fans there was a real 50/50 split if he should stick around or not. I like Filpulla, but I would say he would be a wanted commodity for any return... but honestly I see him being moved. He is a ready 2nd line Center with great skills but just could not see to get out of the 40pt mark until last year...

Nyquist
Almost sure he will be moved, unfortunately he just started to show promise but ice time was hard to get for him with the production of our bottom 6 last year.

Franzen
Can't see the Flames wanting him actually... if they won't commit to Iggy long term, I am not sure why they would take on another 4mill @ 8yrs for a 20-30g, 50-60pts guy.

All in all,
Detroit trades are usually a surprise because they don't do them often... we sha'll see what happens. But I know one thing, if Wings are talking Bouwmeester, that means PHX is staying as Yandle aint moving now at all, most likely Doan is coming back.

I would say, Franzena and Filpulla have a much better chance than Helm. But of All of them Filpulla is the man they may move... and it he is highly thought of in Motown for whatever reason... so the Wings will feel they are giving up a bunch with him alone.

His cap hit might be high, but there's only 2 more years on it so I think there are a lot of teams willing to take it on.

Detroit needs help on D, and has some depth up the middle.

I think there is a trade to be had here.

I agree, there is a trade to be had. But I think the common thought on Jay is that, considering Contract and all, he's been a bit of a bust. That he's regressed rather than gotten better. Now he still has value especially in this market, but Detroit & everyone is looking at JBo because they DON'T want to trade key players. If they were serious about trading key personel, they'd be talking to Montreal or Florida about Subban and Kulikov. Rather than the older expensive guy who's numbers are trending the wrong direction.

I agree that Jay is still a good player but for the money, + what he brought to Calgary, he is a bit of a risk. GM's see that as a price reduction.

Calgary needs to unload the cap hits and older players now and get a jump start on a rebuild. They have decent young players and if they deal J-Bo, Kipper and Iggy now, they can get some serious youth and 1st rounders in return. It's something to think about....then again, it's obvious Feaster is not prepared to do that with the recent acquisitions of Hudler and Wideman. With Iggy and Kipper gone, there's a good chance the Flames are in the McKinnon sweepstakes next summer......

Good for Calgary if they can move him to where ever for whatever. He was a bad signing and cost them Phaneuf. As much hate as Dion gets I'd rather him for slightly less any day.
