i don't get it why do the players feel like they're entitled to the money the owners make? poop if you don't like your job LEAVE and find a new one. i just did that it's not hard

Optimum phrase right there. The NBA is void of big men, Bynum can dominate when he's into it and healthy, neither happen all that often.

Bynum is a beast. The Sixers are adding players who can play and shot the basketball. I like this team a lot.

Because players can't just leave one team and go to another.

What if you had a job with Google, and got a better offer from Microsoft, but weren't allowed to leave because Google held your "rights". Sure, you could go into another field, and probably make less cash, but a NHL player can't simply leave for another team, unless he reaches free agency.

Without the players, the owners don't have a league to sell.

so then in the NHL you get around that by not signing 20 year contracts if you want the flexibility stick to 1-2 year contracts
it's prefectly fine to leave a job after one year

Google might throw stock options and what not to keep me there but you use that in your negotiations with microsoft

No, they were much better with 2 mediocre centers and 3 swingmen stealing time from each other.

JA Adande just tweeted that Bynum will re-sign with Sixers.

They beat the Steelers Joe. That's enormous. Did the fans storm the field and tear the goalposts down?

Collins can coach no worries about them being able to play defense. Bynum is a monster in the paint at both ends.

Players rights are held by one team until they are at least 27 years of age or have been in the NHL for 7 years, regardless of how long they sign a contract for.

Take a guy like PK Subban. He can talk to other teams, but the Habs teams can simply match the offer and keep him. They don't have to sweeten the pot, and Subban is stuck there.

He can't go to the KHL without Montreal's permission if he's under contract, even if it's a one year deal. And if he goes a RFA, Montreal retains his rights until after he comes back.

well defense is the one thing that ticks me off about the NBA

watching the sixers in the playoffs almost restored faith in the NBA too bad the sixers got knocked out

The basketball in the Olympics will be more competitive than the NBA. The odds of a team other than the Lakers or Heat winning the Championship next year is virtually zero.
