yeah losing girardi would suck, and so would mcdonagh, but if they lose one, there is the other. its not as if the pens lose letang and there really isnt a capable replacement. no team could lose a top guy and not flinch, but i just think the rangers would be crippled less. - stayinthefnnet

i might be in the minority here, but i don't think nash should be on a line with gaborik. with gaborik being out, it might actually help nash. it gives him time to mesh with richards. when gaborik does get healthy, things get much more interesting as far as lines go. and with tortorella splitting players up every 30 seconds, who knows.
as far as the penguins are concerned, i think they finish 3rd or 4th. ottowa,nj, and the lightning may give them a hard time as far as getting home ice in the playoffs, but i don't picture them dropping out of the top 4. - Why So Serious

haha i stand corrected. in all seriousness though, im not expecting anything out of morrow for this year, but i have HUGE hopes for despres. maybe i am getting ahead of myself, but i think at the very least, he can come in and hold his own and make the solid play. at his best, i am envisioning some really really solid skill. |

Part of me thinks Nash didn't pass because there wasn't anybody there to pass it to. |

yeah thats why i think gabby being out helps nash. nash doesnt have to pass. he will be expected to be the goal scorer with gabby out. with gaborik back, nash may just be asked to play a more complete game, which will dampen his overall numbers a bit. but if he is put on richards line with the instructions to shoot, finally having someone who can get it to him will make a world of difference i believe. if nash wants to get to the slot, there really isnt much you can do about it. for the blue jackets, he would either have to take it in himself or wait for a pass that just was never coming. with richards, it should be night and day. obviously as a team, it will help the rangers when gaborik is back as it is another weapon, but i really think nash will thrive with him out. |

that is true as well, although i would say he is definitely more in the goal scorer than playmaker mold. i have gone on rants about nash before his trade to ny on this site so i apologize if i come across as a fan boy, but i really do think there is a ton of talent there. he is overpaid yes, but overrated no. |

He will now in New York, Nash could easily become a PPG player there with the players that New York. |

4 teams left for a Fantasy Football league for ESPN. Would like to keep it for those of us on Buzz but opening it up to public if I can't find 4 more teams. PM me if interested. Last Call |

the rangers signed richards last year so somebody could give gaborik the puck. now, the rangers are expecting richards to feed and nash to finish. the only thing that worries me is tortorella's juggling act. nash and richards could have a combined 20 points in 10 games, have an off night, and then nash will be on the 3rd line with boyle. |

Question is, do you drop one of them onto the second line and have a nash/callahan line and a richards/gabbyy one? |

absolutely. i'm not a fan of putting all of your weapons on one line. even if gaborik was healthy at the start of the season, i wouldn't have them together. that's my story and i'm sticking to it. |

I don't think the assumption should be that Nash plays with Richards. Why not play him with Stepan when Gaborik is healthy?
Edit: just read the last post and agree |

no i wouldnt want nash and gaborik on a line together if i was a rangers fan either. i definitely think they should be spread out. i am not so familiar with stephan though. i know he is a talented youngster, but does he have that high end playmaker skill already though? |

And when it's only going to be a 40 game season, it will be a crap shoot, a total sprint from start to finish. (no...i am not optimistic the season will start on time...)
hope you had a good trip to NYC! |
