There certainly is an h. But typing with my fat fingers doesn't always work out well on the I-phone.
So parden my speling errors. - Daman
Haha! No problem man! Forgive me---my pointing it out is more of a play on how a lot of my friends lose their lunch over the absent 'h' |

No worries. On the Rangers thread they called me a douche.
I hate the Pens but I really enjoy the city of Pittsburgh. A city with grass...nice. Also good food. |

Penguins are always touted as the best of the best, at this point it seems like lazy odds making to me. I wouldn't even call the Pens odds on to win the division, the Rangers seem far and away the top dog in the Atlantic. Just my $.02, though, I'm no statistitician. |

Statistically speaking I would be shocked if the Rangers got through another regular season as healthy as they did this past year with man games lost to important players. |

Problem is, Rangers have boatloads of offensive talent at this point. Tortorella is playing a full D game knowing this...and leaving Hank out to dry way too often in one goal games |

the rags definitely are dangerous. they have ridiculous depth. nash is going to get 40 easy. |

Obvious contenders but I wouldn't consider them the favorite at this time. |

we still have the 2 best players in the division and league. I like our chances. NY and Philly are very dangerous as well. It doesn't really matter who finishes 1st in the division NJ finished 4th and look how that worked out. That 4/5 playoff spot is going to be a killer for the next few years. |

no doubt people will remark about the team I support, but I seriously think the Pens have gotten worse with the J. Staal trade; now does that drop them below 'contender' status? Probably not, but I don't think you can claim they are favorites at this point.
Star power does alot for one's reputation though (same thing goes for the Caps at this point). |

They were lucky on the injury front, for sure, but I still think they at make it to the postseason intact. Of the Flyers, Penguins, and Rangers, I think New York should be the least worried of the three when it comes to injuries. |

i agree with this as well. the pens are always going to be the most top heavy when it comes to talent. there is not one player on the rags save henrik that if they went down i would really envision a huge dropoff |

This is the point. Everybody is looking at this current roster as the finished product and that's just not going to be the case once they get to playoff time. I'm actually still convinced Shero will make a move prior to the start of the season, but certainly at the deadline. I'm wondering if the CBA negotiations have slowed things down for the time being.
The current roster doesn't merit "favorite" status IMO.

It will be interesting to see how he handles going from where nobody was watching to the bright lights, that's for sure.
I think 30 is safe, 40 is a little high to me, though he may do it, i just wouldn't say it will be "easy". |

If Gaborik's health proves a more pesky situation than it seems (when is he expected back, the halfway mark on the season?), an ill-timed injury to Nash or Richards could really hurt. |

yeah losing girardi would suck, and so would mcdonagh, but if they lose one, there is the other. its not as if the pens lose letang and there really isnt a capable replacement. no team could lose a top guy and not flinch, but i just think the rangers would be crippled less. |

i just have always thought he had much more talent than was shown in columbus. i admit this is a make or break year for him. especially with gabby being out, he needs to shoot a ton. if he meshes on a line with richards, i really do thing 40 should be his benchmark. |

i might be in the minority here, but i don't think nash should be on a line with gaborik. with gaborik being out, it might actually help nash. it gives him time to mesh with richards. when gaborik does get healthy, things get much more interesting as far as lines go. and with tortorella splitting players up every 30 seconds, who knows.
as far as the penguins are concerned, i think they finish 3rd or 4th. ottowa,nj, and the lightning may give them a hard time as far as getting home ice in the playoffs, but i don't picture them dropping out of the top 4. |
