The "special interests" you speak of have long been dismatled. What we've been up against the last 25 years is stupidity and the overall lack of interest in Buffalo. Basically outside interestes saying "Im not touching that mess".

Oilers and Sabres talk
As if to prove fences CAN be mended when new ownership takes the scene, there is talk today the Oilers and Sabres are discussing a MAJOR deal. Sources vary quite a bit on what is being discussed, but piecing it together it sounds like a "significant" defenseman going to Edmonton along with a solid prospect (or possibly even Enroth) for "young star top 6 center and a third line young player who many feel has top six potential." I hope to have more on this in the next day or so..

Just got back from Patriots training camp. Got to see Tom Brady and Drew Brees simultaneously do red zone passing drills towards me on each field, pretty cool. Wore my Brian Moorman t shirt and it wasn't until walking back to the parking lot when I got my first taunt, from an 8 year old " Bills stink!"

Its funny, young kids in NE area only know the Pats as being the greatest! Kids in Buffalo only know that Bills as terrible.
Funny thing about Pats fans is they couldn't tell you Any other QB's names in thier history other than Brady and Bledsoe.

Yeah, the ending of the book is pretty bleak because so much has changed since then, but 95% is still relavent. Trust me on this one. If you are into your city, you won't be bored with it.
