after boston drafted joe thorton they brought him straight up for the next season and was so awfull that he was a healthy scratch for alot of the season but they knew that praticing in the NHL will help him out more than playing in the CHL

i could see grigorenko being in the NHL as a healthy scratch all season long. Playing in the CHL does not compete with skating everyday with NHL pratices.

3 reasons why this is a bad idea:

1. Game experience is always more valuable.

2. They would have to pay him more to ride the bench.

3. It would count as a year on his contract, making him an RFA sooner.

That can also destroy your confidence. If he's not ready you send him back to the Q so he can get top minutes

Not that you asked for it, but have some advice:

Stop losing sleep over a kid that has yet to play a lick in the NHL. If he's the type of person that is going to jump ship back to some 2nd rate league in Russia because he may make a few more bucks, then he's not the type of player we want.

Honestly.. if you guys are interested in Couts you would be talking TYMY not McNabb. Plus a guy with that last name surely wouldnt get a warm welcome in Philly.

There was nothing wrong with the officiating in the last 3 World Junior matchups or the Gold Medal games in Salt Lake or Vancouver. Even if there were, I'd much rather beat them at hockey than women's soccer. It's not even close.
