I just do not see these two teams playing nice and making a trade together right now. Philly will probably look elsewhere or stick with what they have D wise. See how it pans out in the season and make a move if necessary then.

Garth, Danny Briere has a NMC. And he is not interested in uprooting his family, as he shares custody with his ex Wife. Briere is a non starter.

I'd say you have a better chance at Michael Ryan... but he signed in Europe.

I am pretty high on Gustafsson. Think he has top 4 potential. It will be a big year for him.

Who knows what number he would even wear... 9, 19, 29, and 99 are all not options.. lol

One small difference.. it took Read one season to score 47 points.. and he did it while playing mainly on the third line. Oh, he also had 24 goals.. which would have been 3rd on your team.

I really do think that with Meszaros's injury.. it makes Holmgren turn all of his focus and all of his trade bait towards trying to retain another NHL D-man..
