It depends on the cost. Feaster is supposedly treating Bouwmeester as an elite player.
- Jsaquella

Is he the most clueless GM in the league? He is starting to make Howson look adequate

I honestly dont think it would be a terrible move now. People just need to realize what we are getting.
- jak521

The player were getting isn't the issue. Bowmeester is a good player who would help the Flyers even without the Meszaros injury. It's the price that you have to pay. Both in obtaining the player, and in his Cap hit. That makes is a terrible move in my opinion.

If he stays healthy just until Meszaros gets back, it's good. After that, he can miss his 20 games if he wants
- eayost

c'mon man this is the FLyers he'll bet hurt at the Voting booth in early November even if he's not a Us Citizen and comeback 3 games before Mez.

What, exactly, does he bring on the ice? An occasional fight with another team's goon? I don't disagree with the leadership role or veteran presence, but Knuble brings the same thing and might actually be able to fill a role as a player.

If they need a veteran presence, I'd rather it be a guy like Arnott. If Doan wasn't likely to get $7.5mm and 4 years, he'd be the ideal choice.

I like Knuble and would rather see him over Shelley

I was mean over Tom or Zac

and I agree with Doan also to much $$$

Depends on what it costs in player movement IMO.

As of right now our defense is one of the worst in the conference...

Still unsure if Timonen will be ready for the start of the season.

Coburn-Timonen
Grossmann-Schenn
Gusty-Gervais

If Timonen cant start...

Coburn-Grossmann
Schenn-Gusty
Gervais-MaB

I blame Just5 he had to ask about MAB getting signed and now this

BUt seriously looking at that rotation just screams, trade UFA signing imminent they can't hope to compete with that unless these younger dmen improved that significantly.

I'd rather see Rinaldo or Sestito be spelled by a guy like Holmstrom or Wellwood

I think the serious injury Meszaros just suffered makes a trade very likely.
- MJL

The Flyers have a few young D-men, you don't think they're going to give them at least a shot before they pull a trigger on a deal?

Besides, who are you going to trade to get Jay-Bo, or whoever you have on your list?

They were already going to get a shot as third pair guys. Now they will have to step in and be top four guys and if they falter, Holmgren will be dealing from a position of weakness in trade, plus he won;t have the FA route to use.

IF they do anything (and i think they will) I hope its UFA... Hell.. the could also talk to MTL about Subban who isnt happy with contract negotiations up there.

That more fantasy than anything at this point...

Hmm..

Brett Clarke, CC, Spacek, or Roszival.. thats about it.

Gotta be a puck mover. CC, Spacek & Roszival are puck movers, not sure Clark fits.

I wonder if the Flyers will be interested in Vishnovsky after the arbitration decides where his rights land. If he doesn't want to stay in NY, maybe they'll move him here

Your not talking about giving a young D man a shot now. Your talking about one of them playing a much larger role with the injury to Meszaros. He was your one hope of replacing what they lost with not bring Carle back. The Flyers have draft picks and some prospects. I don't have a list.

That would be great.. when should that be decided though?

Also.. as for Clarke.. he had a down year last season but was coming off a 30+ point season. Over his past 7 seasons he has scored at a 26 point pace... not terrible.

Although Rozsival is coming off of a head injury where he missed 26 games. Sounds like a conky to me.
