INJURY NEWS: GM Paul Holmgren on (D) Andrej Meszaros: "Andrej had successful surgery this morning to repair a torn right achilles tendon."

Awesome to see that Mesz is "fine"

He could be out until like January-March... Depends on severity and what not.

just saw the followup. out indefinitely. fabulous

Sami Salo tore his achillies in the summer of 2010, and didn't return to the Canucks until February. Meszaros is likely to miss half the season. At least his back won't be an issue

Apparently last week, while he was training in Slovakia. It means that the Flyers need another defenseman.

While its not an upgrade or lateral move... its not a terrible idea. IF (and this would be a surprise) he could stay healthy he would actually do a lot to replace what we lost with Carle.

Coliacovo has been relatively healthy the last four years or so, and played some very solid hockey. It's the only name off the top of my head that makes much sense.

I suddenly feel Jbo to philly. I'm not vouching for the Flyers to do that just the force has a strange way of telling me when they make an off the wall move.

He has missed nearly 80 games over the past four years... only making it to 67 games one time in that span... For him thats healthy, anyone else.. not even close.

With that being said, he would make for a interesting option now. He does bring a offensive element to the back end.

Well I don't know about Bouwmeester. But it does make a trade more likely.

I honestly dont think it would be a terrible move now. People just need to realize what we are getting.

If he can play 65 games, I'd take him. Jesus that's sad.

Don't think they will deal until they see what they have on the ice. If they struggle right out of the gate, (unlikely, IMO), Homer will make a deal.

If he stays healthy just until Meszaros gets back, it's good. After that, he can miss his 20 games if he wants

Its crazy how injury prone the guy is...

In 8 years his career high for games in a season is 67

But only about half of those games were due to injury.

It depends on the cost. Feaster is supposedly treating Bouwmeester as an elite player.

this will be a true test of Holmgren as the GM. Does he panick and make a read/simmonds boatload of picks type deal for JBo or does he play it safe for Coligwagamowackovo or Roszival?
