He forgets that the reason Boston are such bastards to play is that their tough guys can play. Out of all the guys he listed, only Foligno has some moves, and then I don't see somebody like Lucic backing down. Milan will pick out one guy, send a message, and then watch as the rest of the Sabres run with tail tucked between their legs. |

but scott will fight anyone.........too bad that he doesnt actually pay any attention to the play and is too slow to catch up to the play so will see a 5 on 4 before he could worry about fighting, pretty much only time he is useful is when its on a faceoff so he can drop the gloves, but when he does fight he is good at it, but during the flow of the game your like ok there are guys that are here as fighters but at least they are somewhat capable in the game and then there is scott |

We brought in lots of toughness to protect our players (i.e Ryan Miller).
We couldn't afford to have our season ruined again, because some cheapshot artist decides to run our goalie again! Enuff said.

Yeah, when you have a guy that makes Komisarek look like a defensive stud, and Schenn look like an olympic speed skater, he really has no use on NHL ice, hence him being almost 30 with relatively few NHL games to show for it. |

Umm, in previous years, I would have agreed with you.
However, this year, I don't think anyone in Sabres jersey is going to tuck their tail between their legs.
Ask me why? They will have excessive mass in their scrotum, knowing they have Ott, Scott, Foligno, Weber, Kaleta,........ backing them up.

The best way to protect the goalie is to bring in players who will fight for the puck, play tough minutes, and keep the puck cycling in the offensive zone, 200 feet away from Miller. A couple of flat-footed goons will do nothing to detract people from harassing Miller, especially if they only see 5 mins a game. Don't forget that we also had out best goalie ( ) run over by a cheap shot, and that was by one of the smallest guys in the game!!! |

Miller should have suspended for swinging his stick at Lucic's head on that play

You seem to be missing a point here, buddy!
Scott was brought in here for one reason, and one reason only, TO FIGHT!!
Everything else is irrelevant.

I think that the only guy there that would be able to hold his own physically with Lucic is Scott. And lets scratch Kaleta from any toughness list, that guy is a cheap shot artist. The only person I see him fighting in the bruins is Marchand. Maybe he'd challenge Bergeron though... |

Look, I get all your deep, logical arguments.
Sabres had to get tougher, and they did, IMO.
You are entitled to you opinion, off course. |

Thing I dont get it why Skora hasnt already resigned there if he wants to. He seemed like a perfect fit, but FA's that make it to this point usually end up going to a different team. He's still good for 40P, and NJ needs as much FW as possible.
As for Huselius, I think he will be a player that signs close to training camp, so teams know where he's at health wise. Too bad that he's a bandaid, cause when he's healthy hes a solid 2nd line winger.
And i know, thats nuts.
All I know is that I want stuff to start happening. This has been the worst offseason ever. - FLYERSROCK!

It's only a 1 year contract. If he plays 20 games or more, I'd be surprised. |
