can't look at samples of a season otherwise i could say the devils are the best team in the east as they have the best record since jmac was fired and we are capable of playing at the pace they were on when lamaire took over

and other teams could just look at their best stretch and say the same thing

its why they play a whole season

Ottawa is a very good team and will continue getting better i don't think they will drop off much, if Toronto trades for a #1 goalie or reimer shows he can handle a long season playing a high level then the leaf could be better

Boston is just Boston

the sabres improved but not near enough to challenge for the division

Yeah then Golisano got the team on the cheap and he was able to sell it for a big profit to the owner in the NHL with the deepest pockets. I know you know, I just like thinking about it. We are a small market team with big market capital backing. Even when we suck we sell out. There is still a waiting list for season tickets. Our franchise is in the best position possible stability wise. Sooner or later that's got to count for something.

For now I'd say with the ownership concerns in NJ, along with the departure of Parise, and Brodeur isn't getting any younger, NJ can't be a very desirable place to play. Even with their stanley cup run, I think they've taken a step back.
