but im talking strictly personnel...we were talking strictly about how players were being brought into the system and which players/team have the brighter outlook. my point was big trades/signings dont necessarily mean a better outlook. the isles have a deeper system at this point and have more assets to work with than the leafs.
im putting the arena issue aside cuz even worse case scenario if they leave to quebec or KC or wherever, THAT team will be better and have a better outlook than the leafs. - LetsGoIsles
Fair enough..........but if they do leave, it wont matter to any of us what they do, cause it wont be the same. |

It would be pretty sad if both sides cannot get a deal done. I think it will get done.Wang needs to focus on the arena and stay out of playing GM. - ses111
Wangs a sneaky S.O.B. Just ask Sanjay Kumar

unclear...but just because nabakov didnt play when the isles picked him up doesnt mean he wasnt an islander...would he play? if push came to shove, id say yes - hes already hedged the grievance by saying he only did it on "principle".
he certainly isnt anything other than an isles as of today.... |

There is no excuse not to have a solid coach especially when you are trying to rebuilt with young talent. It's not like trying to sign a top FA or making a blockbuster trade. There should be at least a couple of solid coaches who would take the Islander job. Thinks like this make it very hard to back Wang and Snow. - ses111
We all know the reason..........they're phucking cheap. A real coach will want to get paid to coach. They want a cheap fill in....

Are you an attorney??? I dont care if on paper he's listed as an islander. He filed a grievance to block the trade. I dont care that his agent says he's spoken to Snow and likes what he said. He filed a grievance to block the trade. If he isnt "in", then he's "in the way". If the season started today........Visnovsky does not play!

To me, Ted Nolan was the perfect coach for this team. I was floored when they fired him.

Vis thought he had a limited trade clause in his contract!!!
He also thought the Ducks were going to buy him out, and he was already lining up things back overseas to play out his career @ home.
It took him by surprise.
But regardless... the sooner it is worked out the better!!! |

It sure seems that way. Charles does not have to have a huge payroll. I think most fans give a pass in this regard. He should be hiring the best possible people though and be more demanding of results. Charles does not put himself in the best position when trying to get a new building with some of the moves he has made with the team. |

The bottom line is if Visnovsky was traded to, say, the Flyers, or the Penguins, or the Wings.......the no trade clause doesnt even come up. Whatever his reason is doesnt matter........he doesnt wanna play on the island and found a potential out.

The new building is on the politicians and the people that live on Long Island... they don't seemed to want it.

Maybe... we don't know who was on his list of 10.
I guess we will find out soon enough.
I don't blame him... a contract is a contract.... it's all on the Ducks.
Hopefully if it gets reversed... the penalty is somewhat decent!!! |

Anythings possible mohammed..........but to say he's an islander to me is not accurate. Either way he's under contract in the NHL for two more seasons. For those two seasons, he's trying to get out of playing on the islanders. So to call him an islander to me is not fact....

SURE!!!! but youre talking in the future and assuming the trade will be voided.
im talking about today IE what i know. the FACTS are he IS an islander until the trade is voided, IF its voided at all. - LetsGoIsles
The NTC is a serious thing.........he and his agent felt strongly enough about their case that they filed a grievance. I dont care that he's listed as an islander. I will keep saying it.......if the season started he would not be in an isles uni.
