Wasn't Robin Lehners dad Lundqvist's goalie trainer in Sweden?

Im not that impressed by Zibby yet. Kinda invisible in the SEL last season.
But the boy is young and probably has a bright future ahead?

i see what you're saying, but there aren't a lot of 19 year olds who "shine" in that league. if you look at the numbers of some other famous swede players, they weren't exactly putting up gawdy numbers at that age either.

they're both swedes, they both play the same style, and lehner's father was lundqvists goalie coach in sweden........i think it was probably the easiest comparison of the bunch.

besides, i don't think he's saying he WILL be like lundqvist.....he's saying that IF he plays to his max potential, he COULD be as good (or close) to lundqvist.

The SEL is a tough league for an 18yo, and apparently he was used almost exclusively as a defensive player, he will be playing pro next year, according to hockey news the sens were none to pleased with how he was utilized in sweeden

they play similar styles, both butterfly goalies, who pretty much take away the entire bottom of the net. not carbon copies of eachother, but not exactly opposites. also, lundqvist has had years to perfect his game, while lehner is still developing his.

nothing funnier than watching a leaf fan criticize the sens goalie and center prospects....ironic that it's the two positions where the leafs have pretty much zero nhl or prospect strenght...........

hmmmmm, should i believe all the nhl scouts and execs, who analyze talent for a living, and who think he's one of, if not the top goalie prospect in the NHL......or you, a random internet troll, who has zero credentials, and has probably never even seen lehner play. hmmmmm, that's a tough one.
