I still think we will miss Carle moving the puck and his first pass out of the d zone. Our talent at D is great, but the mix isnt as good as of last year IMO.
- Daman

I think many over-estimate the impact of losing Carle's puck moving ability. Firstly, from what I saw, it's not like the team struggled (in this area) more noticeably during the 35-40 minutes when Carle wasn't on the ice. Second, Carle wasn't an elite puck mover. He didn't really skate the puck out of the zone much (which is a skill/ability possesed by most higher end D)...he typically either just passed to his D partner or tried to make a pass (sometimes of the risky variety) up to a forward from deep in the zone. Most of the other guys on the team are perfectly capable of making a successful first pass and guys like Timonen, Coburn, Mez, maybe Gus, can even skate the puck out of the zone pretty well if given the chance. If the team gets some more two-way committment from the forwards that should also lend more support in getting the puck up ice. I'm really not worried much at all about the Flyers being able to effectively move the puck in due to Carle's absence. We'll see.

The key is will the forwards pitch in and help out this year rather than leaving the D and goalie high and dry? I wonder

I'm not sure what that word means, but I think I have an idea of what it means. His body type isn't the type to carry a lot of weight. And I don't really see his weight as an issue. It would definitely help. But I don't see it having anything to do with his play in the playoffs.

right, he can't rely on maintaining weight. he has to utilize leverage and technique...

Does anyone know a good transportation methos from the inn of the dove in bensalem to 2nd and Lombard (bistro romano). A cab will cost $70. I only need 1 way.
1st anniversary coming up and I want to meat my wife there for a romantic dinner so I need to know it's safe.
I will be driving our means of transportation so we can go back to TIOTD.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Plus I think he is naturally strong despite his lack of weight on his frame.

It may or may not but can you answer the question? I may be setting the scenario for my own private. Well never mind.
Maybe everyone should boycott my question because I am not doing some guy where he evacuates his digestive system.

Your only other options are Septa. Which would be a bus, train or Subway. But you would still need to get to the train station or the subway, or the bust stop. I wouldn't want my wife on the subway if it wasn't rush hour by her self. And it's not exactly romantic. Why not pick a Restaurant near the TIOTD?

I was just mulling options over. I haven't lived in that area since 99.
If I opened up myself to other than serious comments then so be it.
Not like hockey talk is a pressing issue in early August.
If I go that avenue I will get a limo. Forget I said a thing.

Why is it Danny always gets a pass on his defensive shortcomings and his overall lack of effort when it comes to coming back and checking his man, but Simmonds and others are scrutinized quite a bit. Is it because Danny is alwas an easy interview and very gracious to reporters and others covering the team? I'm really tired of hearing about his playoff exploits as a goal scorer when his +/- stinks whether it's regular season or playoff time. He coasts around the ice the same way Carter did and contributes nothing defensively
