Nice to see he signed. No need to rush. Let him develop into one of the leagues best dman. Hamonic , reinhart, dehaan. Mayfield and Donavan is a nice future 5. Round it up with another good vet and u got a nice d core.

Anyone have any thoughts on Satan on the cheap? Worst case u waive him. Thoughts?

....or get something for him at the trade deadline....oh wait, I forgot, Garth doesn't do that....

only downside being that it's the rags AHL team name. is it really appropriate to promote such a thing?

I wish someone would advance the Ratner/Brooklyn story. Plenty of stories out there, but they all just cite that one sentence Ratner said to the Daily News. The guy's not shy about talking...pick the phone up and get some more comments. Lots of lazy reporting.

UIF you know how the media feels about the Islanders. They need to get to Brooklyn first before the media cares.

Im not reading into anything

agreed. i remember how excited i was when they announced his name and how unexcited he looked when they announced his name....
- LetsGoIsles

I watched this video twice and when they announced his name he was already turned around so you couldnt see his face. His old man (former 12th overall draft pick) was smiling the entire time. When Griffin took the photo standing btw crappy and dead weight.......he grinned after weight made a comment to him. I didnt look at this as him being dissapointed by who picked him..........the kids all business. He's an 18 year old who looks like he could dominate men..

what was his face walking down the stairs and walking to the podium??

why are you ignoring whats obvious? no one is saying he WAS disappointed, we're saying his face wasnt one of EXCITEMENT...could he have been pissed? YES. could he have been thrilled? YES. could he be an business-all-the-time kinda guy? YES.

all thats being said is his facial expression wasnt one of overwhelming excitement.

He doesn't look like he smiles much ever, which I'm fine with. I like a no-BS defenseman.

Comparable Style Ryan Suter?

Is that a good comparison?

I hope Griffin can do a bit better then Ryan when the gloves come off.

I was reading all these comments and decided to watch the draft video. I 100% agree. I dont think that it was because he was unhappy, I just think he has a serious demeanor about him. He was smiling when he had his arms around weight and company.
