Honestly I know nothing about whether or not he has an attitude. That being said I'm sure you know he has already come off as a bit of a show boat in edm and according to Ryan Rishaud it didn't sit to well with a few of the vets(not sure how credible RR and his tweets r)

Wait a few years and then you will know the answer. It has something to do with greed, being a prima donna and injured a lot and not being liked by his teammates.
There is no guarantee that Yak will turn out that way but it is a possibilty. I understand he has already been acting like Rob Schremp, I mean a hot dog.

I think you're judging him much too early. The kid likes to enjoy himself, and he wanted the crowd (who came to watch the development camp) to have a little fun... What's wrong with that?

In my keeper fantasty league that has been going strong for 33 years now I traded Erik Karlsson for PK Subban and A. Semin. At the time Semin was rumoured to be heading to the KHL and I gambled on this deal and feel I am going to do okay especially if Semin shows up and earns a long term contract. I also think Karlsson is going to get hurt and will not be as good this year and I believe PK will break out and is on the rise. Karlsson is unreal but in the playoffs he was not the same with all the opposition running him at every opportunity. On the pp though, Karlsson is one of a kind, ie Lidstrom??

Nothing, Yak may very well have a great career. I am just saying that having PK on the pp with all the young talent up front would give the oil the best pp in the league. They are missing a key ingredient on the pp and pk would fix that.

Oh I'd love to have Subban, I just think it's too early to question Yakupov's character.

First off let me say wow 33 years! I'm impressed. I'm currently in year 5 of a keeper league I hope I can say the same 33 years down the road. I think that deal will work. Sure it would be nice to have Karlsson and will lose points with Subban in there but which forward did Semin replace for you? Will Semin be able to make up those points...or give you more? I know Semin gets a lot of flack but this year has to be his year. One year contract means he will have to prove himself if wants another and from what I'm reading despite rumours...Semin wants to be in the NHL. Karlsson one of a kind? Time will tell. He sure is off to a great start.

Honestly, i like PK as a player, i do, however i doubt he ever lives up to the hype that he has been built up to by most hab fans. Does that mean he is overrated? I don't believe so, however, there are a certain amount of fans in any fan base that will always make unfair expectations for their team's best players, PK and hab fans are not exceptions to the rule.

How can you compare Yakupov's potential overall with Subban???? Subban is brutal. He's even more over-rated than Phaneuf. Do you really think if Edmonton didn't give up the 1st pick overall, before the draft, that their strategy was to wait it out to get Subban???? Next years draft is gonna be the biggest one since 06, Edmonton Fan's can wait through an other year of failure so they can be this decade's Detroit Red Wings in a few years...Eventually, free agents will be begging Edmonton to sign them. Patience is what they need....NOT SUBBAN!

Ok I'll give you the point regarding it's been some time since Daigle and Stefan and I will admit scouting has vastly improved.

Not sure Karlsson is a good example though because I'd find it hard to believe anyone expected what he did last season. As for Subban's stats....can't say 35 is his limit. He's only played two seasons and defensemen take longer to develop. I think this would explain his positioning too, he's till learning and the curve is much bigger for a d. Once again I think Karlsson is an exception here.

Also I'm not sure I agree about his attitude, I've heard the reports but I think personally he's being mislabeled by the media. I love his attitude, always got a big smile on his face and looks like he's having tons of fun playing hockey. That doesn't seem to sit well with more traditional hockey pundits. Not sure why.

But let's get back to your stat...96% of first overall picks or something have superstar backing? Mind if I asked where you pulled that stat from?

- Hockey_Hoser

That would be one dud in the last 25 drafts...hmm let's see that
Takes us back to about 1987. I reckon both daigle and Stefan are in
That group not to mention Rick D, E Johnson, Phillips, and prob at
Least another non star or two. So the stat may be closer to 80% which
Is still pretty high. I must say, when you look at the scoring leaders
A crazy amount of them were # 1 or 2 picks. The rest are 3 and 4 and
Martin st Louis.

Yashin had the same great attitude at 18 and the rest is history. Actually no knock on Yak really I just believe a guy like Subban will challeng Weber for the Norris down the road. Pk is a winner and just saying playing with a bunch of young guns like the OIl have he would break out offensively. I mean Subban had 49 points as a rookie I believe in Montreal, a team challenged to score.
- flyerdude17

How is the H...E...double hockey sticks is PK a winner?????
