He's too new (yeah I know Landeskog is on the list but people expected him to be that player, not saying Pac wasn't highly touted, just not the bluechiper and pedigree Landeskog had in his draft year). If he can do it again next seaons then I think he enters the talks. Big and fast, can score but can he fight and hit? Does he back check? And why the hell should I care? I hope...umm...shoots...Lombardi knocks the socks off him!

My point is Lucic has no business on this list. Sure he,s a great fighter but way to many aspects of his game are far to weak to be the best power forward.
- Bieksa#3

Uhmm, fights? back to back 60 pt seasons? hits?, scores? And if he is weak at any of this, then what is Perry? Surely not a powerforward.

He's just a Leaf hater, and even though nothing remotely close to Leafs was brought up, he had to throw in his little jab...
Everyone else in this thread is seriously talking hockey and talking power forwards...

Exactly...I'm curious what he considers a power forward if Lucic isn't one.

Guy has one bad year by his standards, and you chirp one of the best players in the game today?
My top3 in no specific order: Ovie, Perry, Lucic

- BoBBeR56

Still not a powerforward.

hmm if we're now considering cap hit as part of a player's value as power forwards then you have changed the definition as well. In saying that, I agree with you for Ovie's cap hit, he's only played a few seasons where I think he's earned it. But that maybe because of the defensive systems he was stuck in. This year should be telling.

No (frank)ing poop, the personification of a powerforward, a throw back player in that respect in fact.

Yea seriously all these people saying he shouldnt be on this list are delusional. Lucic is a prototypical power forward. He is the definition of a power forward

Fair enough, but the amount of Leaf and Oiler trolling that goes on in the Canucks thread has made a lot of us a little touchy.

Ovechkin for me. Consistently among the top of the league in goals (well, save for 10-11), shot totals, and hits. Also faster than just about anyone on that list. When he's on, which is a lot more often than people think, he's one of the toughest players to stop from a pure physical standpoint, and I believe that's a prime essential to the definition of a power forward.

This may help. The player to be considered the archetype of a true power forward (got that from wikipedia)....none other than Mr. Neely. I think when we consider who the best power forwards are today...Cam has already set the standard for us. Continue.

Exactly. They should also while referring to Mr Lucic, google the word quintessential.

Lucic is absolutley a power forward. The reason I wouldn't put him as one of the best power forwards is because he lacks skating ability and does not have the scoring touch of a Perry or Ovechkin ect.

Perry is far better. I expect my power forward to back check, Lucic doesn't know what that even means. I expect my top power forward in the NHL to be a bonafide 1st liner, Lucic is not. I do not expect my top power forward to disappear for 10 game streches, Lucic does. Hell Clarkson is better
