And Clark didn't make that list??? Not sure what to say there.
- cryptical77

me too. I'm sure he must of been considered. I'll never forget him pummeling both McSorley and Probert. And then that wrist shot of his! holy cow. I met him a few years back...I'm now in my 30's but he made me feel like I was 8 years old I was so intimidated (trust me that doesn't happen anymore). And the man is still a beast! He could knock me out with just a whiff of a punch!

Benn? He's not the best now but definitely top 3-5, and I think he could be number 1 this time next year. A lot of hits and fights and can deke his way out of a phone booth. Bloodied iginlas face , one punched E.Johnson and payed down malkin and emediately fought/pooped on Kennedy.
- NoobasaurusRex

Agreed. While perhaps not a traditional power forward Benn should be on the list.

Also agree with Kings fans here that Dustin Brown should be in the conversation.

after seeing the one we call by no name listed here...I must agree. But THN only has him listed as #2....behind guess who? Food for thought.

That list looks like it is the best PF between the years of 1985-1998

Why isn't Dustin Brown on this list? Still mad at what he did to Vancouver? He plays the same way as Backes.

Yah he didn't work out too well for you guys, but you still cant deny it.

He was the best leader in the game, every one feared him on the ice, tough, mean, could score, fight. Best Ever. I like Neely and Clark but no question best ever: Messier.

All debatable.

Backes is very good, but the NHL's best all around player???

In the 'power forward' category, I gotta say Corey Perry

gotta use that emoticon whenever possible, it was the main reason I finally made an account

But yet when the heat is really on, he plays about as big as Nathan Gerbe.

Some guys I would consider are Evander Kane, Rick Nash and Bobby Ryan. Also, I know he is more of a sniper, but before he got screwed up by Torres, Marian Hossa was a horse. So strong and difficult to knock off the puck. I hope he is able to return to the level of play he is capable of.

As he tries to change his game to a more complete player. If he were allowed to play as he used to, then it wouldn't even be close.

I never understood why Ovi was ever made to adjust his game. What is there to adjust? When you have a guy that can score as naturally as that you just let him play his game. Let everyone else worry about back-checking.

Hit 69 times last season, and got pounded by perennial Selke nominee Pavel Datsyuk, doesn't really make a strong case for him as a powerforward IMO.

I remember that fight. First game of the season. Babcock was devastated for Dats cuz it ruled him out of the Lady Byng.

might as well put Probert and Semenko might as well be on if Lucic is. Sure he can fight but he's not close to the guys on this list.

Perry had an awful yr last season. I consider him the best. 35 goals and well over 100 pims every season. Hart winner, Stanley cup winner and plays best in big games.
