No, what you tried to do was discredit Lucic for not being a good powerforward because he wasn't a bonafide number one center, that in itself was true brilliance.
- shinebox

Where did I talk about a center? The Cory Perry I was referring to plays with with Ryan Getzlaf. I said the #1 power forward has to be a 1st liner. Because many power forwards are. Lucic isn't a 1st line forward

I am going to defend the twins before the onslaught of bashing. The twins do not hit, but they play a down low cycle game and take a TON of punishment in the corners and in front of the net, They don't play physically but they are far from soft.
- fiveandagame

Not a huge fan of the Sedins, but got to say they're both durable and don't shy away from opponents top pairings every night. Definitely not soft.

I wonder which is the softest Forward of this list:

Daniel Sedin
Henrik Sedin
Alexander Semin
Olli Jokinen
Mike Ribeiro
Jason Pominville
Jason Spezza
Jeff Carter
Phil Kessel
Scott Gomez
Sidney Crosby
Ilya Kovalchuk
Patrick Kane

Who takes the cake?

- hooligoon

Define soft...both Sedin brothers take an awful lot of punishment and stick work from the opposition and do not retaliate. But the certainly pay back but putting the puck in the net. But if you define by fighting back...well then by this definition they would be soft

Here's where I need to chime in. If Lucic isn't a first line...who is on the Bruins? How would you describe their lineup? Which line is Lucic playing on if not the first?

It's ok Corey Perry's checks are in the mail, certainly not on any scoresheets.

Its tough to look at a teams depth chart and do that. Boston's 2 best forwards are centers. They have about 8 2nd liners, which is a big reason they are so hard to play against. Look at Pittsburgh. Are you gonna tell me Malkin is a top 5 player in the league, but plays on the 2nd line? Kesler, or Richards would 1st liners on a lot of teams. Hossa plays on the hawks 2nd line, as does Sharp.

For all I know they guy could be Junior dos Santos, but to come onto a hockey forum and start listing the "tail of the tape" behind a fake name is just pathetic.

Not when you don't backcheck. If Berger on scores 55-60 he is a 1st liner. Plays hard on d. I'll take Callahan as a 1st liner he plays awesome d, D Brown. If Lucic rounds out his game and never gets more then 60 points then he's a 1st liner. Until he learns you play hard at both ends, he isn't close

Oh, so you cant be a first line player if you don't back check. So a powerforward has to me a 2 way player and a 1st line center, interesting take on things i guess?

The trolls are pissed because they know Doan is signing in Vancouver making it the final piece needed to get the Cup to Vancouver for the 1st time.

You make good points and the reason why I asked the questions. The B's lineup is tough to gauge because I agree that the best power forward must be playing on the first line. And for the B's, Lucic does play on the first line according to the minutes he logs every night. And he's often been referred by his coach as being on the first line.
