again, i respectfully say, you're nuckin' futs.
a pk is so much harder to acquire than a yakuov. - rob121
Not according to previous draft rankings (Stamkos vs Doughty, Tavares vs Hedman, Yakupov vs Murray).
And not according to salaries handed out that go by the demand and supply rule.
PK is much more valuable to the Habs right now than Yakupov is, I have no doubt about that.
But by acquiring Yakupov, you not only get a 1st overall player that will eventually be a 40 goal scorer, but you reunite a terrific duo with Galchenyuk.
You can't teach chemistry, and these two have it. It comes over time, and it's not easy to find.

Teams nowadays built solely on offence are rarely successful in the playoffs.
We'd be looking for another p.k. for another decade. - Ultimate Cyberhabs
We might have another one in Beaulieu.
And our cupboards are filled with defensemen.
Tinordi, Ellis, Beaulieu, Bennett, Dietz, Thrower all have very interesting NHL potential.

galchenyuk will make chemistry with whomever he ascends with. that's assuming he is worthy of the #3 pick.
and, our lofty expectations of him..

Beaulieu certainly is.
He's not as ready as PK was at the same age, as far as physical strenght goes, as PK is a training freak, but Beaulieu certainly has a potential as high as PK does.
PK had a crazy developmental curve, that not many players have.
And we probably won't see Beaulieu before the 2013-2014 season in Montréal.
But Beaulieu is a blue chipper nonetheless.
He's as complete as PK is. He will have to develop his D game just like PK did in Hamilton. He already is better than PK to pick his spots on when to carry the puck or not. He's a better fighter than PK, he's bigger and if that's even possible, he's a more fluent skater.
The only area he is behind Subban is in the physical department. |

I had the opportunity to see PK in Jr. live about 6 times during his final season in Belleville. He was easily always the best player on the ice. The limited times that I have seen Beaulieu, that is not the case. Definitely a good prospect that needs to be developed. If he pans out as an equal to PK, even better for the Habs.

I saw PK in a playoff game against Brampton. Hodgson, Duchene and Grachev were going him around like no tomorrow. |
