And what prevents us from making these people pay for their education??
All suggestions for a free education I saw included 1- a rule where if you don't succeed in time or quit, you pay in part or full. Or 2- a way to pay afterwards, once you have a job and pay according to your revenues.
Look around the world, inform youself. - fidopro
Why not weed those people out before they start?
Good luck trying to get any money out of dropouts who couldn't had afforded school in the first place.
You want to lower the cost for the kids who do well, then provide more incentives for finishing at the top of your class, rebates and such. |

The medium on which you chose to tell me that is highly ironic.
And 5 3-hour classes per week isn't so bad + |

You assume that since they are dropouts they will remain so all their life.
Some eventually straighten up and become good contributors.
As much as I hate his gut, Docteur Barrette here once was a dropout and a bum. But he straighten up, went to med school in France and is now a candidate to become a MP, and maybe eventually a Ministre de la Santé.

Kids who don't pay for it themselves don't respect the process (in my experience). Anyone who skipped a lot of classes, usually had "Mommy and Daddy" paying their tuition. - 3M
Yep, and if education is free for all, not only would the privledged be skipping class, you would have the people who are only there for the party and becuase it was free doing the same. |

If they want to make something of their lifes they will find a way to do it, but if you give it to them for free, when will they get that wake up call? |

Dude as Fido said, there will be ways to prevent those situations. Maybe not as radical as the people from the right would like them to be, but there will be ways.
Alright that's enough about it.
Peace. |

Rewarding someone with a free education after they graduate and finish in the top whatever percent of the class would seem more effective then trying to get money out of people who fail.
I guess that is just too crazy to work.
It's like paying a hockey player for something he may never do instead of letting him prove it first. |
