Really? That is your only comeback?
Brodeur beats Roy in almost every statistical category...

- BoBBeR56

Ya got to admit it a pretty good comeback. Plus he played on defense
First team in a defensive era.

its not like roy had scrubs playing in front of him

and brodeur did win all his vezinas after stevens, nieds, dano left/retired

you really cant go wrong with either goalie as who is the best in the game

2 different styles and both have made their stamp on the game and "changed" the game in their own way

bahahaa wow, usually Flyer fans have a lot of hockey knowledge. Guess you missed out and possibly a few grammar classes.

Guess you were absent the day they taught about manners, class and treating people with dignity.

The amount of drug users who post here are incredible. I'll give you that its close but to say Marty "DOMINATES' Roy. C'mon man

If Roy played even during the same time era as Marty, his stats would poop all over Marty's. Marty also had one hell of a defense in front of him. Like said before, hello 2001. Roy past prime vs. prime Marty

- JFlyers00

Dominates was probably a little much...
But Marty does have 100+ more wins, 50+ more shuouts, and over his career .3 GAA better than Roy...those are pretty significant numbers.
There is no way that Roy would have put up another 100 wins, and 50 shutouts even playing in the same era.
After Stevens & Neidermayer left the Devils after the 2003/2004 season did Marty still have that great defence? Not IMO...
And Roy had some pretty sick teams play in front of him too...

Statistics are way over rated too

How are stats and facts overrated?
They prove a point...

Not really...
So in that same logic...Gretzky's stats are padded because he played in an offensive era? And Crosby is the better of the two because of the points he puts up in this era? That is ludacris...
Who was Devils best d-man from 2004/2005 season til now?

2 great goalies but can you name 2 nhl hall of famers who play defense in front of Patrick Roy for every cup won in 1986, 1993, 1996 & 2001?

'Cause i can for Brodeur...

Again...its not like Roy had duds playing in front of him.
1986-Chelios, Larry Robinson
1993-Desjardins, Schnedier
1996-Foote, Lefebvre (two of the best defensive d-men to play)
2001-Foote, Blake, Bourque

Brodeur had Neidermayer and Stevens...and to a lesser degree Ken Daneyko...
So they had comparable defence in front of them...

Yah, what about these guys?
You are really gonna compare stats from a one hit wonder (Cheechoo) to the stats of Marty Brodeur, who has career stats better than Roy?
Stevens did had 4 straight 40+ goal seasons...

Wanna see another cool stat...
The 3 years Roy won Conn Smythe he had GAA of 1.93 (86), 2.13 (93), and 1.70 (01)...the 3 years Marty won the Cup he had GAA 1.67 (95), 2.07 (00), and 1.65 (03)...so arguably he had better/comparable playoffs performances to that of Roy in the years Roy won the Conn Smythe.

Sandish Ozolinsh says hello again. The only bad goal i ever watch while watching Patrick Roy is when he tried to tell refree he has the puck on his glove but the puck was on his crease and Shannaban or Yzerman score the goal. Even Don Cherry says happend to best of 'em when Brodeur let in bad goals.

And you are misguided by the 3 Conn Smythe's Roy won, when Marty had BETTER stats during his teams Cup wins.

Oh, so now you are picking and choosing...
Before you said I couldn't name any...then named a few...
Guys like Foote and Lefebvre are Hall worthy because they didn't put up the numbers Hall guys get...but they are VERY solid defensive defencemen.

Besides the two Hall of fame d-men Devils had (and Daneyko who was underrated) can you name ANY Devils d-men during their Cup wins?
