Fav player who never played for buffalo? Hmmm.. Tough Question... Easy answer is Gretzky or Lemeuix.... I have a hockey man crush on Rick Nash, and was drooling over his trade prospects... Now I hate him for going to the Rangers....
It has to be Mike Modano. LOVED the way he skated... So smooth... Great player |

Just heard from someone who spoke to ennis directly and the Sabres offered 4yr/ 10.5mill. Ennis camp is holding out for more $, but this is good news if we can lock up ennis for a 4 yr period at a good cap hit. The longer the term the better for the Sabres |

Stafford+ moved for Stastny
and then a sign and trade with Ennis.
A reoccuring dream/thought I keep having. |

Why does everyone care that 89 hates Kaleta so much? So what?
Kaleta's got heart for sure, but heart alone doesn't win hockey games. At least not heart with a severe lack of skill. - BuffaJoe
I couldn't disagree more, heart does win hockey games. Heart is contagious, when Kaletas teammates see him putting his body on the line, I believe it makes them try harder, and feel that they should do some of the same. They have the confidence that when the time comes, Kaleta will put his a$$ on the line to protect theirs. That is invaluable.
Guys like Kaleta are what we need. Nobody said he is the answer to the foreseen scoring inadequacies of the club. But hockey isn't just offense. Every one of you who have posted against the signing should realise, that if the Sabres instead traded his rights for a 6th round pick, there would be 100 people, for each one of you, who would be saying that we were insane not to sign him for 1.25.
And to those who say he is overpaid, and not worth more than a million. Well, I challenge your grasp on the rising salary trend in the NHL since 05-06. The cap was at 39.0 M $ in 05-06, now it is at 70.2 M. That is an increase of 31.2 M or 80%. So a player that was worth 750,000$ in 2005 should now be worth 1.35 M$/yr. That is simple math. I argue that your conceptualization of players worth is unrealistic, and does not take the previously stated facts into account.
Kaleta has done nothing since being picked in the 6th round, but exceed expectations, beat the odds, and put maximum effort forth consistently. He has risked his physical well being in attempts to help his team win. His injuries are almost exclusively due to his altruistic play, blocking shots, hitting, fighting. He never claimed to be better than he is, and has a perfect track record. This is exactly the kind of guy I want on my team, and for whom I root.
And him not being one of 89's favorite players, to me, puts into question just how much of a real fan he really is. |

Messier.. Could you imagine him wearing the "C"?!
Ok I am done with the dream list
Like the Kaleta signing. A lot.
Ennis will get $3-$3.5 million over 4 years. Teams like Buffalo have to pay for potential, and Ennis has a good upside |
