Like I said you guys are close. You need something more that Smyth to infuse some experience into that team, well that, a real goalie and your line up to stay healthy... To me the window is very short.

We really just need to be healthy. A healthy Hemsky gives us another vet leader up front. A healthy Whitney gives us a #2 d-man. Healthy Hall/RNH should be roughly 15 more goals.

What are the expectations on RNH this coming year. My instincts would say slightly less than last year because it's his second year and people know who he is now and how he plays. It doesn't always effect players like this though, has he put on any weight btw? I just feel that being so small he's bound to get hurt.

I don't think he has a sophmore slump. If healthy I have to think he's around 60-70 points, maybe more. The kid has vision like I've never saw before, better than Hemmer. With Yak, Hall and Eberle as potential shooters RNH should do well.

His vision/ passing is excellent I agree. IQ is a hard thing to defend against so I can see your point of no slump. Let's hope he does some Gary Roberts training eventually. He's young enough where all he needs is time but hopefully by the time he's 20-21 he'll either be a good weight or then try hard at packing a few on.

I'm actually glad that he's going straight to Providence. Clearly the Providence coaching staff believes he's ready as they're slotting him in as their top line center.

Hopefully with the providence fitness and diet program he'll be able to fill out and build up his strength.

Wait really? first line? That's impressive, though could make some bad blood in the locker room from the get go. Guys who have spent 3-4 years working hard to get that spot would be more than a little ticked that a kid walks right in and takes it without playing for the team yet.

With his skill, if he fill outs he could very well be a dominant player in the league.

Wow this has gone off the rails.

I'm really hopeful that this investment pick will eventually bear fruit. Going to the NCAA is definitely the right move. Going up against better talent should help him develop his skills. The only problem is having to keep fingers crossed for 3 or 4 years that he isn't yet another Jesper Mattson/Daniel Tkaczuk/Rico Fata/Kris Chucko/etc...
