Yngwie's great, but most everything he does is in 4/4. That's why I'd put Petrucci ahead of Ying-yang. To write, record, remember, etc all those different time signatures from any one of their albums over the 25 years DT's been together, and then to go play it live with four other world class musicians who know if you've f$%^ked up

DT is by far one of the most under-appreciated bands in rock/metal today.

Yngwie is great for sure. If you're talking clean technique though, it's hard to beat Paul Gilbert. Unless of course you're Rusty Cooley.

How has nobody mentioned Esteban? He has infomercials & everything!

Not really.... I like most music, except Country. Having to hear EVERY Johnny Cash album over and over with full bass, while growing up, does that to you. Though I kinda like Johnny Cash now, go figure. Yngwie is one of the fastest, cleanest, metal guitarist I have ever heard. Anders Johannson is a pretty cool guy. Very funny and very personable. I am a Beatles, Beach boy, Zeppelin, Stones, Muddy Waters, Temptations, U2, Tears for Fears, Goo Goo Dolls, Norah Jones music lover all morphed into 1!

Johnny Cash is the f'n man... how can you "kinda like" him now..

John Petrucci is the best guitarist in metal because he can go from This Dying Soul - to The Spirit Carries On - to Lost Not Forgotten - to Goodnight Kiss. He will always be my favorite musician of all time.

No one can do what Rusty can do but John has gotten his sweeping back up to where it needs to be and his righ hand picking is better than anyone.

Gilbert's no slouch. I like Mr. Big's stuff, but I really remember him from growing up around all the neo-classical, instrumental shred heads that all came out, it seemed, at once: Vinnie Moore, Tony McAlpine (Edge of Insanity is a PHENOMENAL instrumental albums), Gilbert, Joey Tafolla, etc

As a bass player, I am in awe of JM.

And they really don't miss a beat without MP, do they? Mangini comes as advertised.

#Amerks have signed RW Max Legault to an AHL contract. The 2009 #Sabres draft pick had 8G + 9A, 19 PIM last season with Rochester.

Portnoy supposedly has something going with Billy Sheehan and Richie Kotzen (who's no Mick Mars, either, if you catch my drift).

Interested in hearing that.
