that sounded a little insulting...

You can talk about teams or players in a playful way, but don't make any personal insult about other posters (name calling or saying people are stupid, etc.). |

The rhetoric around the Luongo trade is getting stale. Canucks’ fans want value in return and who can blame them. Luongo is elite. But the fact remains it’s a buyer’s market with very few buyer’s. With those conditions, it’s not the seller that determines the price…it’s the buyer. So guess what? Vancouver will not get Luongo’s value back in return for a trade. How do I know? Because he should’ve been traded by now… but he hasn’t. - Hockey_Hoser
Yep. It was stale several weeks ago, but still it makes the rounds in HB. |

Heard M. Keenan on TSN 1050, who coached Bobby Lou in FLA say that Toronto would be the last place Luongo would want to go.

Lu was the Canucks best player in the 2 games he played. The team played retched. Something had to change and Schneider played lights out while losing. It certainly wasn't on Lu. - micah555
I just find it funny that Luongo is washed up and a bum and a playoff choker and needs to be flushed down the toilet (3.59 GAA, 8.91 sv% in 2012 playoffs), while Fleury is still a lock for Team Canada in 2014 (4.63 GAA, 8.34 sv% in 2012 playoffs).
But hey, if this negative talk gets him shipped to Toronto for Komisarek, D'Amigo and a 3rd, who am I to say boo? |

Read the rest of the post. Terrible all around hockey player. Buffalo and atl gave up on him for a reason. He may score 25 but be to blame for 40 against - Bieksa#3
Right he broke out on Toronto, he lead the team in plus minus and his Corsi numbers are good.

Seems a little weird when combined with:
But on behalf of Leafs fans, if any Canucks fan wants to say that Bozak is not a #1 centre, we are OK with no banning.
That's not an insult - it's a fact.
Putting him on the ice as the #1 centre is the insult. - Atomic Wedgie
I thought his trade proposal was pretty insulting... but not ban worthy. |

It's a strange situation...He might be "elite" but they don't need him and that contract and could have used that money elsewhere if they would have dumped his sorry ass... - Flyfreaky
It's the exact same situation as Bryan McCabe.
Fans and media decided that because of his contract, he was the worst player to ever pull a Leafs sweater over his head. Oh, and he shot a puck in his own net. Kill him!
Of course, all he did after being (mercifully) shipped out of Toronto was go on to be named captain of the Panthers.
And don't even get me started on Larry Murphy...
But the fact remains he has to be moved. It's not fair, it's not rational, but that doesn't seem to matter. |

The guy played 2 games, one of which the Canucks took nearly 30 minutes in penalties.
Fleury got lit up. But I guess when they games are all 8-5 nobody's numbers are going to look any good except the forwards. |

The problem isn't that Lu is a bum, it's that the Canucks hamstrung themselves by promoting Cory Schneider and now how are they gonna get full value for him? They should have dumped cheap and used that money to explore better options to improve the team...The Canuck management is stupid... |

He could be an excellent 3rd line C on the Canucks, good on the draw, GvA/TkA ratio shows good defensive awareness, can chip in on the scoreboard. Put him with Higgins and Hansen and I bet he still puts up 40 points, especially since he would likely centre the second PP unit. |

I'm assuming you mean insulting to Gillis.
But hey, if you are going to ban people for making insulting trade proposals, I suggest you go after the guy who said that Steckel could be a part of any trade to Vancouver for Luongo.
Steckel could be part of any trade to Vancouver for breakfast at Sophie's Cosmic Cafe*.

Jonas was outplaying him...and he was clear to play by doctors? How can heal more? - pker2theend
Miller was also cleared and look how he played after a concussion, Have you ever had one?
Reimer prob is NOT the answer in Toronto but he needs the chance just like Schneider got doesn't he?
If leafs move for Luongo I would be surprised if it's before the 10-15 game mark of the regular season, or if Reimer loses all his preseason games maybe Burke rethinks things.

its true.........but one day it will be fashionable to wear the Blue and white again. Once Toronto makes the playoffs and proves that the franchise is trending upwards, More star players will want to be apart of it.
still may take another year or two but it will happen

given the fact...Burke has a tiny chance...i see scrivens..making the best of his op...for the number 1 job...burkes risking his job...he needs a experienced Keeper, missing out on LUO...may come back to haunt him....like Yzerman....stevie y...missed out as well....linbachs not a starter - Canuckfan2006
Yzerman has a longer shelf life in Tampa than Burke in Toronto, Yzerman can correct next year if it doesn't work out, We fire Burke, Carlyle and everyone associated with Burke If this year does not work out no matter which way burke decides to move

I don't think Lu and McCabe really compare. Lu is a great goalie making less than McCabe, a good offensive man that was pretty slow and unsteady in his own end, was.
Nobody expects fair value for Luongo. But they do expect some value. A 2nd paired with salary dumps isn't going to cut it. He'll stay in Vancouver if there isn't something that actually help the Canucks. Looking at the UFA list, his cap space isn't going to help us much. |

The other interesting thing was Roberto Luongo finishing third in voting. Everyone outside of Vancouver thinks that Luongo has no value, yet 15% of people in Vancouver (for the most part) think he is the best player on a Presidents Trophy winning team.
First of all most of the chirping comes out of the East about how bad Lu is . The fact that most of them have seen very few games of the Canucks and know squat. They don't stay up until 1 AM to watch the games and they really have no idea of wht is going on in a regular basis with the Canucks. Most of them jump on the bandwagon and repeat things that their friends tell them.
Lu would be an up grade on all teams except NYR Nash and LA . This is why it is stupid to entertain offers with other fans from other teams. They really don't know what they are talking about and if they want they can miss the playoffs .
Hambuis is a 2B Dman in my opinion. - VANTEL
Pretty sure most of Canada saw Lu play for Team Canada.
And most people are hockey fans, so they have seen him play...its silly to think that people base what they say about Lu based on what their friends tell them, lol
And Lu would be an upgrade on every team but 3? Yet you guys wanna trade the 4th best goalie (by your evaluation) in the NHL?
And I would say Montreal, Boston, Carolina, Minny, Buffalo arent getting an upgrade in net taking Lu |

Schneider earned his chance by outplaying Luongo. Reimer's getting his chance because you're got no one else. If I were a Leafs fan, I'd want Lu. |
