This is also Bieksa talking about all the rumors of him being traded. Really dude your credibility is at an all time low. Maybe you should use the internet next time. - Bluechip23

I seen what Buffalo was offering to get Ryan, and we would essentially be trading Jensen and Edler for Ryan . At the same time we are getting rid of LU
We take Hiller and a good D prospect and trade for a 3 rd line center that has 18 goals and a LHD to play with Garrison
Ana get stronder and Tor Gets their goalie and a 6'3 Dman ready to make the jump. - VANTEL
I don't know if I like giving up on Jensen just yet. I know we can't read too much into it, but he was pretty clutch with the Wolves in his brief stint. Give him time to grow and he might be a gem. |

He's really big on putting words in peoples mouth's....especially if it involves Bieksa. - boonerbuck
He didn't put words in anybody's mouth, in this instance. I read the post too, he said "all last year," and then posted stuff from two years ago. |

No kidding. My favourite last year was at the deadline when Burke said "he owed it to the fans to give this group a shot and not give up on anybody". All I hear in that is "the core of players, paying fans and owners are not worthy of playoff hockey". How does he sell this poop?
I know there are a lot of TO fans who don't buy one bit of that but it's just underlines how little credit Burke gives the fans and media. - boonerbuck

He very well could be . I do know Bobby Ryan is a top 6 thirty goal scorer and to get him you have to give something up. Ryan is a young proven player . |

You are right,,, and so am I. He does it often and clearly did to me several times in this thread.
I assumed that guy was talking about 2 years ago. I'm sure you can tell by my reply that I thought that.
It might be possible that Bieksa is only still a Canuck becase of injury circumstances. There was a lot of poop being thrown. Some of it may have stuck if things were different. Who knows? Our D was so stacked for the playoffs that clearly it worked out better that way....

In the case of two years ago, I don't disagree. Injuries, and his stellar playoffs that season. But since then there haven't been any rumours about Bieksa being moved. |

Try and not look at picking up a power forward like Ryan as giving up on Jensen. Asset management is all it is. Ryan is a 25 yr old with 19 playoff games under his belt already. If I were a prospect who was in a trade involving Ryan and going to a team with greater needs, I wouldnt feel like anybody gave up on me. Jensen wants to short track to the NHL so a team like the Ducks would be a welcome idea.
With that being said, I don't think that kind of trade with the Ducks ever gets done. They seem to be good trading partners when it comes to depth deals but I don't know if they would like Ryan in a Nuc's jersey. Fun to dream tho... |

The thing about Brian Burke, is he gets better with time. It took him 5 years to turn the Canucks into annual competitors. 3 years to turn the ducks into cup winners. It only took him 1 year to turn the leafs into the best hockey team in NHL history.
Some people say the 56-57 canadiens were the best, Some say the 86-87 oilers, some say the 72 bruins...hell some might even argue the 74 Flyers were the best at playing the game it was meant to be played. But I think we could agree that all those morons were wrong because everyone knows that the 08-12 Leafs are the best hockey teams to ever grace the NHL with their presence - I-own_da-Northwest

Then we draft top 5 again, not a horrible place to be. But I would personally prefer fighting for a playoff spot.
What do you think it would take to get Luo on TO? - Pagelite
I think MG will try and get a top-6 forward, bottom pair D-man and a pick for Lou. Whether or not he succeeds is the question. I also think that this is moot point until the Doan deal is finished. If Van lands him then MG will take picks/prospects, but if not it'll take the likes of Lupul/Versteeg/eg. IMHO.

I tend to agree, I think Anaheim would want more than what Vantel's proposal stated. They need to resign Perry/Getzlaf, so I don't see them taking on Luongo's cap hit, especially when they've got ownership issues due to having been sold by Disney. They'd also want at least a regular NHL skater that can play in their top 6 and Janssen isn't quite ready for that just yet. Plus with the loss of Schultz and Gardiner, they'd probably need an NHL caliber D man and would want to restock their D prospects. A more realistic proposal for Ryan (not that they'd take it, since I agree, they probably don't want to trade Ryan in-conference) would be: Booth, Janssen, Tanev, Sauve and a 1st for Ryan, Guinen. |

14 pages and all I read was crap crap crap.
Man do I wish the NHL would just go with bigger nets and this whole situation would go away without another peep. |

Does anyone think Ryan lasch could be a player to take a chance on? If you font know know who this guy is look up his stats/highlights. He might be short at 5'9 but he can skAte fast and has alot of skill. He also played on the USA WC this summer and didn't look out of place |

I don't think Lou is a bad goalie. I just think that very few players in this league warrant a decade-long contract. A 33-year old netminder is not one of them.
For me, I like Luongo, I do think he's very valuable - strictly as a goalie - but as a business asset, his value is highly constricted by his contract. Which, really, is a shame.
For me, I'd give up Bozak, Lombardi, and a prospect like D'Amigo. And I really think Bozak has a lot more upside than people give him credit for, and would hate to see him traded. |

So seeing Lu play for a two week period makes you an expert? BTW he is the goalie that won the Gold Medal and made that great save in OT.
Price and Ward will not be Canada's top goalie next olympic either so you may want to fix your list. Miller had a very long stretch last year that he was horrible and Lu did win the gold over him. Thomas is retired and I would take Lu over Rask or Backstrom,so we have a difference in opinion. - VANTEL
I have seen Lu play plenty, you said no one has said Lu, I said people saw him play during Olympics at least...
He played net for a stacked Canadian team that was favoured to win gold.
He is a great goalie, but not like he was the determining factor behind Canada winning gold. And he made that great save in OT? Why didn't you say so...I think Andre "Red Light" Racicot also made a great save one time.
I would care to wager that Lu, Ward, Price and Fleury will all be given shots to be Canada's #1 at next Olympics.
Miller had a concussion, but has been arguably one of the NHL's best goalies over the past 5 years. |

Not to many Goalies have put up the kind of consistent numbers he has in a career. When he signed the contract he was considered the best in the world. Number one. Also, goalies tend to have longer careers. There's a reason why his cap hit is only 5.3 It should have been around 7.5 on a shorter term deal. |

Ask Scott Niedermayer if he was or not.
Maybe the Leafs should sign Andre "Red Light" Racicot because one save is better than none.
Lu Ward Price and Fluery will be given a shot at 2014 and Lu will be the favourite . I don't see how this is helping your point. You are saying Lu is an aging goalie but will probably be asked to play in the Olympics in 2 years. |
