Been one of those for me. Been laid up after a car accident, a few months back. Been on here, way too much. So much entertainment, when the Trollpatrol, gets their wheels spinning. Thursday night had to be the pinnacle. |

Vancouver has an internal salary structure much like detroit. In detroit no one got paid more than their captain. IN vancouver no one got paid more that the highest paid defense man on the team. Thats why Garrison signed for 4.6 and not more. I think Edler can/will be an exception to the rule because of his loyal service to the team but I dont see him making more than 5.5 million if he resigns with the canucks. I could see an Erhoff like deal being announced here before the new cba though... |

Garrison isn't worth more than 4.6 M. - flamminghead
The market dictates the value. Garrison was offered more than 4.6 from other teams—that means he's worth at least that much, in the current UFA market. |

He is a bit of a question mark... but seeing what current UFA's got this past offseason (and last)... not to mention he had been offered more by other teams. Its a very fair deal and excited to see how he does this year.
I would take Garrison at 4.6 over Wideman at over 5 in a heart beat... the guy is a disaster in his own zone. |

Pair him with karlsson in ottawa...pinch me |

Edler has the tools to be a force. You cannot compare him to Enstrom. There isn't a GM in the league who would take more than 1 second to say which player he wants. Eddie is still young and yes he makes mistakes. When he's on his game he's as dominant as any d-man who has put on the orca.
He'll get 6.5. |

wideman for 4 years or garrison for 6 years? both are terrible deals. flames had to overpay to land a UFA...whats the nucks excuse, isnt garrison from BC? very shortly nucks fans will be including him in every deal like they are with ballard now. |

Yes he would - LeftCoaster
Sorry, he's nowhere near the class of Chara, Weber, Doughty, Karlsson (this year). Not even the class behind that, of Suter, Keith, Letang, these days Pietrangelo,.... maybe the block of players after that. |

ESPN had him on their top 5 list for the majority of the last 2 seasons. It's certainly not a stretch. I'm not surprised you would say this, however, considering your disdain for everything Canuck related. Clown shoes. - Fosco
Ohhh, ESPN says so. The authority on hockey. |

Speaking of bad deals how about this one Grabovski at 5.5 mil for 5 years . That is more money than Kesler's
And Wideman is 5 years not 4 |

you're right, kesler deserves a massive raise considering all the extra's he brings to the table. you know, like all the dives.
this is worth at least 10M easily:

Eklund: How Much is Edler Worth? - Eklund
It seems silly to re-sign him now when it seems almost certain that the next installment of the CBA will lower salaries/terms/etc. Gillis is taking a calculated risk in waiting, but IMO it's worth it.
