Indeed however I don't think TB is there yet, they improved with Carle, but Smith > Lindback and we saw what happened to him. Lindback is good but I would be half decent behind Suter/Weber. This team will be good but I think it's more in 2-3 years when Takarski and co. make the jump. I think you are right about Buf and Car tho, those teams could do some serious damage. - Boosinicka
With TB, they'll have Aulie, & Carle to help Hedman out. That's by no means soft.
As long as they get even average tending they're bound to score enough goals to be in the thick of it. Another reason why I think they regressed so much was because the older legs didn't get quite the summer off to rest up.
Not that I'm underestimatiing the shape these guys are in, it's just that it's bound to have an impact(playing 9 months straight) if you're 35 years old |

For his defense, yes. But I think Kuba is a better defensive defenseman without-a-doubt. His offensive numbers were a lie, he was being spoon fed one timers. - Panthers88
Why don't you place much value on him scoring on those one timers? There's lots of guys in the league that get fed one timers and don't score 16. Stamkos gets fed a ton of one timers on the PP. Are his numbers a lie? Goals are goals.
I know what you're trying to say. He's not a great all around d man, only had 17 assists, etc. You have to give the man credit for scoring 16 goals from the point. That's a real nice output and Florida will miss that. |

Aulie was terrible last year and Carle won't have the same support in Tampa that he had in Philly.
That being said there's no doubt they are an improved team and have a very solid pipeline of guys coming up to help in the future as well.
Tampa will surprise. Stevie Y won't accept a non-playoff year. |

I've put a lot of time into watching the leafs loose over and over again and not get a lottary pick go in there favor. I would love to see us get a top two pick but I can garauntee that the leafs finsh last they loose the lottary draft too.
Realisticly if BB gets a goilie of bobby lu's calaber we sneak in to the play offs. Not making a play for a goalie it will be another shortend season for the blue and white.
That being said knowing we would make the playoffs would that alone be enough to make a move for louongo? And at what cost?
I would make the move for Colborne, Connolly and a third.(Max) then it would give us time to develop reims and scribs and trade louongo in two to three years from now. |

Which is exactly as it should be. There's nothing on the UFA front that will help us at all and teams are pretty much locked into there rosters until the new CBA is decided.
Keep the cap room we have right now and go into the year utilizing what we have. If that means no playoffs for another year so be it.
We shouldn't just be throwing money around for the sake of throwing money around. It also takes two teams to tango and almost no one is making trades right now.
That tells me...
1) Everyone is on vacation as they should be right now...
2) Everyone is waiting on what the outcome of the CBA will be.
3) We've made a determination that the cost of acqurining what we need is too high right now. So we wait until closer to TC (depending on when that is) and try again.
Or we could be stupid and spend all our money on mediocrity and then I'd still have to come in here and see you crying. |

I think the Canucks are really going to regret forking over 6+ a year for Garrison - celata29
It's 4.6 a year. They've been looking for a bomb on the point since Erhoff skipped town. They might have got a bomb in general. Risky signing. |

Aulie will have to have one hell of a turn around to assist Hedman. He will be lucky to be on the big club in my eyes. I still think he's good, but he was pretty lack luster last year and has to improve big time. |

Shane Doan asking $7.5M per year on multiple term!? Not a chance, he's seeking in neighborhood of $5M. |

Plus he'll be under a lot more scrutiny in Vancouver. I don't know the man so I don't know how that will affect him. He went from playing with no real pressure in a small market to having to deliver the goods and justify his contract. Time will tell. Gillis took a chance on that one.

Is TSN saying it? Last I checked it was some Globe and Mail guy only tweeting it once and nobody else (I'm trying to list anything the G&M ever broke in sports but it's zero) |
