Nothing is set in stone until the start of the year. (frank) there are a bunch of quality players still in FA. |

that being said: buff will do better this season. 6-9
tampa bay: still bad D and G - good forwards, will suck this year. 10-13
winnipeg: 8-11 finish
Toronto: bit better, 7-10 finish
islanders will suck - 13-15
montreal will be better for sure, but not much better 7-10 finish
thats my assessment, for what its worth. - big_dion
Tampa Bay's Takarski is a good goalie that wouldn't suprise me if he had a great 1st NHL season. |

Every expert had Ottawa pegged for 15th place, and no expert called NJ in the final. Prognosticating all 15 teams is a Futile exercise. |

Harding is their back up and is there future #1, backstrom has 1 year left.
dunno what it would cost, not as much as you may think though. - big_dion
Hackett you mean Harding is now 28 and never managed to come close to taking Backstroms job. |

You would hope that people learn from their mistakes but I suppose that too is misplaced hope. - Two_For_Truth
if Burke doesn't have to. why do we? |

Love him or hate him, Thomas would be a good fit if he were available & willing to play, buy an extra year for Reimer/Scrivens to mature without being thrown to the wolves as starters. Won't screw the team long term like Luongo would.
No way do I believe that Burke's done at this point. He knows he's running short on time if he doesn't produce. My guess is that he makes a serious play for either Stasny from Colorado or Getzlaf from the Ducks, using players like Bozak/Franson/Armstrong/Connoly/Lombardi, and likley one of our better prospects (Kadri, Colborne or Frattin) to get it done. |

I just don't understand how the Lightning adding Carle, Salo and Lindback made them worse. Or the Jets adding Jokinen made them worse. The Sabres are also likely to add one of, if not more, Grigorenko, Armia and Foligno plus Ott who they also added. Maybe they're the same but certainly not worse. |

Harding's history reminds me a lot of Roloson's. |

Buffalo - Derek Roy being gone will hurt. Steve Ott helps. I guess maybe the same
Tampa Bay - Lindback has never shown he could be anything more than a backup. Loss of starting goalie
Winnipeg - Trouble surrounding Pavelec, and Kane isn't resigned |

Army plays for the habs
And connoly and lomdardi ain't worth the two bullets it would take to get rid of them |

Baah forgot Armstrong moved already. Dare to dream, remember what gems burke moved to get Phaneuf? Players in the same vein as Lombardi/Connoly. |

Most of the 15 teams end up being where you would expect them to finish. Obviously, there are surprises every year because of injuries and what not but every year there are some pretty obvious locks. |
