We lost to the Kings because of a combination of luck, bad decisions, and Quick being amazing. Size and speed were a small part but we kept up with them pretty well on those fronts

and in addition to those things, a judgement call... which is exactly what it was. a judgement call.

Yeah but looking back it was fun to be a fan watching. If they won it would be so much better. I wouldn't take it away it was a great fun season. They have said numerous times we have a resilient group of men here. One guy doesnt make or break the team. I would like to see Lou do something as much as the rest of you. Just when you least expect it Lou will surprise us with something.

Whether it be this summer or the day before the trade deadline (Or anytime between), I think Lou will make a bold move. The Devils aren't bad and I think they are gonna make the playoffs, but we lost some guys and we need to make up for it. I trust in Lou!!!

I love Zach Parise as a player but people have been over-rating him all summer. Yes, he's very hard working, has a lot of heart, etc, and I'd always love to have him on my team, BUT he's not an elite player. He's not the kind of player who can take over a game or playoff series. He wont flash down the ice and rip a shot past the goalie from the circles. He's benefited from the Devils' hard forecheck game. I didn't understand when Pens' fans were drooling over the thought of him on Crosby's wing, because it's not like he's an elite passer to dish to Crosby, or an elite shooter to receive passes. All of his goals are within 2-3 feet of the crease. Parise in a different system that doesn't fore-check as hard will not be as successful as he was on the Devils. I don't know enough about the Wild's game to think about how he'll work with them, but watch him score 15-20 goals next year.

Him gone is a blow to our offense, but not a knock-out punch. It will open up room for Kovy, we have a whole year of Zajac, Henrique has a year under his belt, maybe Clarkson and Elias can be as effective as they were last year, our offense isn't in as terrible shape as everyone makes it out to be.

living on a prayer. If Lou thinks we can contend, I think he'll make a solid move. Right now I'm thinking he's in 'wait and see' mode and waiting for the right time to pull the trigger. I wouldn't be at all surprised if his thinking is, wait for a playoff bubble team with less than great D depth to lose one of their top 4 to season ending injury.. they're in need, we have excess. swap a D for a forward.

like Todd said, we have a luxury not a problem. We'll see how it pans out. Lou made good moves during the season last year with Poni and Zidlicky. Those were/are contributing, useful players that really made us better than we were without them. Hopefully Lou hits home again.

What if the Devils traded Zajac and Tallinder to Minny for Heatley,Zajac is a free agent at end of the season and would probably sign in Minny anyway.. and then signed Arnott and Sykora..

This poop happens every year. Every Year! And we still compete, if you want the team to drop big money on free agents become a fan of the rangers, they win cups all the time with all those contracts and fans of theirs.

Its more about how we're expected to miss the playoffs every year, and have made them as a top 4 seed team every year except for the MacLean diabolical and this season in our run to the Final. Not a dynasty, but a top 4 team in the east since our last Cup, rookie head coach destruction not withstanding.. ? That's not too bad.

I would do this if Arnott and Sykora were 5 years younger lol. Kovy-Henrique-Heatley would be awesome.

Every one has a mad hate on for heatley I'v personally always wondered how much chemistry kovy and heater had in the thrasher days and if it would translate into anything good now I know they both like to shoot but im still very curious to see how they would play if reunited but his cap is a little rough
