You should try reading Plan B 4.0 by Lester R. Brown. - Beaver-Warrior

Chic Fil A are really crazy since they want to define marriage as between a man and a women and dont discriminate against anyone and their beliefs. You are free to have your beliefs without being disrespected - molly2522
While I respect your opinion, aren't people disrepecting Chick-Fil-A for their beliefs? |

Yes, and Plan 9 is concerned with hilarious.
Kind of like Glenn or Glenda.
Seriously, if anyone cares (but related to the global warming issue) - I'm in the middle of 2 books: The Prize (Daniel Yergin), about the oil industry, and Private Empire (Steven Coll), a terrific analysis of Exxon Mobile since their merger. |

As for me, I disrespect Chick-Fil-A not for their beliefs on gay marriage (altho i disagree with them 100%) or for their religious beliefs but because they disrespect my beliefs as a non-Christian. Same with In-and-Out. |

For one.
And just generally continually discussing their "Christian values". It's chicken, guys, not a crusade.
In-and-Out is much the same: on their packagin, they have religious references - e.g. they stamp "John 3.16", with other references to Revelations, Proverbs, John, Corinthians, etc. on other packaging items. Some are old testament, most are new testament - I don't want any of it.
I would feel 100% exactly the same were the owners of these companies Jewish and their proclamations more in line with my upbringing: I don't want any of it, and I don't wish to have my beliefs disrespected by having theirs shoved on me. |

A majority that is continuously narrowing - but it doesn't matter: you should not get to vote on others' civil rights. |

We could go back to discussing how Alexei Yashin would solve all the Hawks 2nd line problems. |

I keep an eye out, or should I say my dogs keep an eye out for me, every time we go for a hike. Bears and coyotes.
Tell me about the geese. You can't go in any park in town here without tiptoeing around all of their mess. Nasty stuff. - djd
About the last 8-10 yrs they don't fly away in the Winter...They stay all yr long...quite a mess. |

Maybe: haven't been able to find out yet if they have Jewish franchisees - and if the do, whether or not they would let them close on Saturday and open on Sunday. - StLBravesFan
I think they are all closed on Sundays and have always been the same. |

The greenskeeper at my golf club always solves the problem every early spring. When he spots the male and female walking around the ponds together all of a sudden one of them disappears, presumably the female.
And my handicap has not improved since he started doing that but my shoes are much cleaner after a round of golf. |

So Winnik didn't want anything to do with that "garbage" Blackhawk organization, so he signed with the Ducks...
...but it appears that Kyle Cumiskey wants nothing to do with that "fantastic" Anaheim Organization, so he signed to play in Sweden.
Funny how opinions vary.

It sounds like a modern version of Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle." At least that's what I imagine. I think I'll check that out while I'm vacationing next week.
I like to read myself. I haven't had free time to read what I would like. I'm usually stuck reading for classes and such. - EKolb13
Not quite "The Jungle". Totally different style, but very good in its own right. |

Yes, see, but if they would shut up, those of us opposing their views would shut up.
They have every right to open shops in Chicago or anywhere else - I would never oppose that.
They also have the right to make their political and social views public.
So do I. |

I guess I should consider myself lucky that there isn't a Chick-Fil-A in the Rockford area. I can totally get away with sticking my head in the sand on that one. |
