Grit I believe it was Benjamin Franklin that said a government that can't control the printing of its money is more dangerous than a standing army.
No it was Thomas Jefferson - southernhawk
Sadly, too many look at Politics and political parties like they are rooting for Ford or Chevy, Cubs or Sox, Yankees/Redsox...just emotional historical legacy crap. |

JJ, just west of Orlando in Lake County we have Bears, Boars, Coyotes, Bobcats, Panthers, Rattle Snakes, Water Mocs, Corral Snakes, Alligators...you can go from hunter to hunted in a hurry. - TrueGrit
Funny, I was on the tollway between the Atlantic Coast (around Cape Canaveral) and Orlando this spring and it was WILD, saw tons of turkeys and a deer in just a 45 minute drive. I know the hogs are really out of control down there. Also you have Burmese python now, too! Did not know there was a bear population down there.
Good fishing around there, too. It is likely that some day I will live in FL, got family in Vero Beach. And if I can afford it, I will enjoy the outdoors down there.

Sweet, yes bears all over Ocala National forest. We had one a mile from where I live. A few months back they had a few in trees in downtown Orlando. Funny stuff. The bears here are not super large grizzly, but still bears.
The Python issue is still confined to Everglades and Lake Okeechobee. I guess not too far from Vero.
I am too chicken to do too much outdoor stuff here, what I will tell you and the offer stands, should you get to Orlando during the season, on game nights I take 45" flat screen from my loft, take it down on the screened in porch and watch the hawks in HD. On the cool nights during winter, may include a nice fire outside...definitely a different hockey experience, but my favorite time of the year here. (BTW, its a totally manly have a beer hetero fire)
Move on down man, here your wages may be a hair less, but you get to keep your wages. No state income tax. Housing has never been cheaper. |

Exactly, dropping 4oz of ethanol in a gallon of gas is assonine.
Sadly, we do not have much in the way of market forces anymore, otherwise gas would be priced at $1.50 per gallon and oil would be at 50 a barrel.
The enemy of markets is central planning by elite fascists. That is privately owned but government run industry. Working to shape the economies....big failure.
No doubt JJ, market forces should be allowed to help in the development of alternative energy sources. Contrary to what many think, the idea that these are as efficient as we are led to believe is false. I think Dennis Miller said this a few years ago and I totally agree. You want to find ways to replace oil as huge energy source? Simply exhaust the supply and we will figure out what to use next. It really is that simple.
Elites have niched themselves into the economy (goog, msft, ge etc...) and believe we have reached homeostasis, where they wish to preserve their position in society and see no further developments. No further growth.
Sorry for the ramble gentlemen, but the only thing that moves markets, stocks, bonds, commods is simply currency. Devaluing the dollar has driven up the prices of all asset classes (except real estate). Stories of IRan this and Saudi arabia that is cover for your government printing more money. - TrueGrit

I agree he may finally leave..
2 reasons really...
The NHL is getting tired of this and they have already stayed too long in AZ imo plus...
Doan has a few years left and can make a lot more more $$ elsewhere.
Somwhere Bob Murray is sitting back and licking his chops becasue the price for Ryan is going through the roof.
Someone like Philly or Pitt is going to miss out on Doan and then swing even bigger for Ryan.
He is younger, cheaper and a better scorer than Doan. - Al
Doan helps this team more than Ryan IMO. But I would take either in a heartbeat. I think like you however... if Ryan goes anywhere it's East. I would pull out all stops to sign Doan. I don't see anybody forcing Kane/Toews/Doan to the permiter in the playoffs. We start winning games again convincingly in regulation vs OT where Craw hurts us. |

Somehow someway the Hawks have to play a more N/S game and need more forwards that could do so...
Not 7 forwards that could do so but more...Shaw made a big difference because for the most part he goes straight to the net. |

....large grizzly, but still bears. I thnk there are way more issues with harming the public with smaller Black bears than Grizzly's.

Dunno if tTrader has another deal up his sleeve. If Liriano can be a .500, sub 4.00 ERA guy and chew up innings, that would be huge. You get anything MORE than that from him and the Sox are very formidable.
Would not mind them getting another big lefty bat. I just don't trust Dunn, especially in the playoffs against good pitchers most every night.

This is so true.
If people set aside their emotions, mistrust and prejudices, we'd have a lot more common ground in this country. And get more done.
You get someone all riled up around their pet issue(s) and they'll go to war for anything and anybody, including people who basically want to screw them. |

KW's street cred has been somewhat restored with the pick ups of Youk, Myers and now Liriano....wish we could dump Floyd. I'd rather have a root canal than watch that walk machine pitch.
Not sold on the rookie closer either. He's an adventure every time he enters the game. Rios and Dunn with monster come back year's....
The Chicago White Sox will have to be dealt with....great year so far. |

We have them both up here. Every year in the early spring Black bears hop a six foot fence and raid my bird feeders. They've been spotted in swimming pools all over the city and often raid the dumpsters. We also have a problem with cougars and coyotes becoming habituated to man and his trash and they are no longer afraid of man. Just last week someone in town was having a backyard BBQ and there was a cougar sitting on the hillside just outside the yard watching the proceedings. Coyotes have been aggressive lately too with some reported attacks. Grizzlies are more in the remote regions and not a problem in our city. |
