Philco...Q=favorite all time coach....aw c'mon..how about alpo or orvil??
- bogiedoc

Bogie...i know you're joking....to me Alpo was PHUCKING USELESS....and hired by a TWAT that couldn't tie a tie or PHUCKING comb his hair. END OF STORY. What a sorry episode in Tomahawk history when those two KNOBS were calling the shots.

Horse S H I T... Hawks BLEW Cups in '71, ;73 and '92 under Dollar Bill

Horse crap is all your spreading here..... Q's system of 27 different line combos per game is just terrible. His over playing a handful of players every game is just silly.... Back him if you want; but he won in Colorado and got shown the door...I wonder why???

I never liked that signing bc I knew his speed was never going to allow him to fit into the top 6 where he was originally slated. However, he had very productive years before Chicago and everyone was pretty excited about him coming aboard with the work he would do in front of the net.

It didn't work out. He was quickly sent to the 4th line and contributed very little on the ice. However, you can't play monday morning QB with every decision.
Didn't work out but he was that net front presence everyone screamed for before we signed him.

- Bhawks35

No, actually Brouwer was the net presence and I screamed when he was traded. I can play Monday morning QB on any decision I want, that's what fans do. I Didn't like that trade then, I don't like it now...and I blame Q just as much as Stan for that one. Trading the one player who most closely resembled a top 6 power forward for a daft pick, and then attempting to replace that skill set with an over the hill, has been, who's as slow as John Scott and not even half as physical as Troy Brouwer was an Epic Failure on both Stan and Q's part. Q for running Brouwer out of town, and Stan for letting it happen and then for believing that Brunette was a viable alternative.

(frank) Stan.
(frank) Q.

They both should be in the unemployment line.

That happens with 99% of coaches though. No matter how great they are their shelf life with one team isn't very long. Look at hitchcock andhow many teams he has been shown the door from.

Good point Bhawk....i will agree however that Q's line juggling is maddening...

BUT.....he's won 600+ games and one more CUP in the NHL than 99 % of us jagoffs on this blog.

BHawk..that's FAIR for sure...but seems like Q is a very popular coach among the players.....and it seems to me...that he's a gazillion miles from being tuned out.
- philco28

I would rather the coach was feared and respected than "popular". These guys don't need a BFF, or a Daddy, they need someone willing to do whatever it takes to make them a better team. If that means puting a boot in their ass, so be it. Coddling some guys who slack off (Kane, Sharp) while running others out of town after they've busted their asses every night doing the little things, the dirty things, that make good teams great (Brouwer)...is not good coaching, pretty (frank)ing far from it.

Yup, Brouwer, Soupy, and I'm betting Frolik and Bickell, and Buff, to name a few, were not on the "we like our coach" side. His treatment of some of his teams' players leaves more room for dissension in the locker room than it does for team unity.

Phil we did a straw poll a week or so ago about how long Q would last this year. Most of us figure he won't last 'til Christmas. What's your guess?

Not the point, Phil. He coached them. He's jerked so many guys around they don't know which way's up anymore.

10 years when it took 50 to win another and add another 10 when the GM is a spoiled twat who played about 1 less NHL game than his DAD.

Doesn't matter. Coaches job is to do the best he can with the players he's given. For the past 2 seasons, Q gets an F in that regard.

Stan gets no free pass from me either. I think he should be gone too.

I'd be SHOCKED if Q goes before Bum Man Jr. One has given his life to the game and one is a FRAUD. Therefore, i'd hope Q OUTLASTS the Golden Dummy as he should by rights.

I agree with you on Brouwer. He wasn't utilized properly by Q (much like frolik imo) and was a player I wish we kept.
When I said you cant play monday morning qb I didn't mean you personally, just fans in general.

You say that's what fans do, and I agree some do, I just don't think they should.
We need a Legit 2c. If Bowman goes out tonight and acquires Getzlaf everyone here will do a cartwheel. If Getz however goes out and sh$ts the bed like he did this year that's mainly on him. It doesn't make the signing a bad move. Tha'ts all I meant by monday morning Qb.

I choose to view signings more like a game of poker. You don't get swept up with results as much as how you played the hand. Going all in with 72 and winning doesn't make it a smart play.
