All I said was that it was a possiblity. Talbot isn't afraid to drive the net or score in the dirty areas. He's a nice fit alongside Couturier and Read, especailly because of his defensive qualities, and has already showed good chemistry with the former.

The fact that they don't have a 4th line center currently might work against all of the "if's" in your scenario.

OK, let's talk about you slamming us accountants and finance folks who said that the Preds could absolutely match if they so chose.

Sorry, that's the only time I'll gloat

- TheGreat28

let's see how it works out for them. That decision was the equivalent to putting 5k$ rims on a $900 dollar car. Oh yea btw Weber signed here despite Bryzgalov being a terrible team mate too.

Fedotenko, Holmstrom, and Rinaldo can all play center, and I expect one of them will unless another free agent is signed.

Yeah, these all seem like much more plausible ideas than Talbot not hitting the 19 goal mark again.

Or maybe you've ignored Morganti and Leed, who have both mentioned that the Flyers are going to try out Rinaldo at center in camp and in pre-season. He played C for the Phantoms actually too.

Holmstrom would be a solid 4th line center as well given his defensive qualities.

Re Jake's conference all yesterday, I esp enjoyed the reporter asking Jake if he hopes to get more PP time this season. Ummmmm, last time I checked he was manning the right point on the first unit.

rinaldo at center is terrifying.

is it too much to ask to have a 4c that could win a bleepin draw?

When I'm proven wrong I will. For the record I've been proven wrong about things before and have admitted to them, this isn't one of them. That investment is not looking promising for Nashville. Next summer will be real interesting for them.

Edit: btw saying that Bryzgalov scares away potential free agents is a lot more dumb than saying it wouldn't be a good idea for Nashville to spend more than they can afford on Weber.

Talbot isn't good at the dot either.

If I were the Flyers, I'd sign Arnott or Moore. Problem solved. But for whatever reason they appear against that idea.

A 4th line of Rusty - Holmstrom/Rinaldo - Wellwood/Rinaldo would be incredibly weak IMO. I wouldn't give them more than 5 mins a game. Considering how much they just paid for Rusty, don't see it personally.

arnott isn't a good faceoff man and i doubt moore is interested in a 4c role but perhaps homer has other ideas.

They're paying Rusty less than Talbot. Don't understand your point.

And, yes, it's weak. That's why I'd like to see Homer sign somebody to solidfy the 4th line.

Well, sounds like your dad makes a lot of sense in hindsight. I woulda been like "what?" But thats pretty dead on about hanging out high school friends, I look at teenagers now and wanna call the cops.....
- aosplayo

Any group of 3 or more teens, whatever color, whatever sex, makes me uneasy. You just never know when one of them is going to do something really stupid and the others are going to follow because that's just what kids do.

I would say Weber is a far more important metaphorical component than rims. At least give them the 'putting a ten cylinder in your Ford escort', eh?

Well, I'm not arguing as to whether it was a good investment or not. The point was...you slammed a few of us who were providing options for Nashville to raise the capital to match. You said there was no way they could match. They did. Ergo...wrong.

The point is...I think paying someone 1.7-1.8 million bucks...they want more than 5 mins a game from him. Granted, he'd get pk time too...
