ok.. i think he meant wellwood had certain players he played with.

I wouldnt say Read got bumped anywhere, as he seemed to play on just about every line every night..

- jak521

Haha...good point about Read.

I still would really like him to get a chance to play on 1st or 2nd line. I think with injuries at some point he will.

Everyone wants to trade For Bobby Ryan. I see Voracek being as good as Bobby Ryan very shortly. He may not be as good of a goal scorer at any point. But as a point producer and overall player, every bit as good if not better. Same for Schenn also.

I really loved Jake's two way game last yr including time on the PK. He is not a player I want to move. I really like the kids on this team and want to see them grown.

dead serious.. the guy would say things that made no sense and complete sense at the same time.

the smoke quote was about me walking around with a group of friends on weekends during highschool. He told me, i dont care if you guys are just walking around doing nothing... When theres smoke, theres smoke.. people will see you and automatically think your up to no good, and thats no good.

EDIT: I think i used his smoke/smoke line when referring to the trade talks

i was watching another clip and it showed Zubrus getting hit three times, now two of those were by Flyers but it appears it put himself in a bad spot to get hit....

Are the Flyers backing off a possible deal for Ryan?

With the signing of Voracek it seems like the urgency to get Ryan has been scaled back a little.

Well, sounds like your dad makes a lot of sense in hindsight. I woulda been like "what?" But thats pretty dead on about hanging out high school friends, I look at teenagers now and wanna call the cops.....

Your father has an astute sense of the obvious (in the best way)

it appears he was "planting a seed", he would say things to see if they would stick in your mind. Grow roots and sprout to see if you "get it".
I do the same thing with my daughter. Some things she gets and other things, it rains and the seeds get washed away.

I could replay that hit on A-Train 30 times a day... Thing of beauty, especially after all the big hits he had thrown on Flyers.
- jak521

the other day NHL.com had a thing up about best hits of last season

first one was rinaldo on doughty... that was a good one

I'll never forgive him for his boarding call on Gagne when he was with Ottawa. It wasn't called and the Sens scored right after leaving Gagne to drop the gloves for himself.

I miss Gagne -- so glad he got a ring!

I tend to agree...but...Wellwood was a staple on the 3rd line in the playoffs, even dropping Read to the 4th line.

I like his lines and think that's how they start off. But I personally prefer Jake on 2nd line and either Schenn or Read on first. I think Read really done well despite the fact that he hasn't been given any top line minutes.

- TheGreat28

I just don't see Wellwood playing ahead of Fedotenko or Talbot. If he devlops hands to go with his speed, look out.

Ryan is like dessert -- we don't really need it, but we want it.

we'll be fine with him or without him -- i think Homer knows this and isn't going to overpay for him.

I'm far more worried about losing Carle's puck moving ability. I think that offensively, once set in the zone, they will be fine.
- Jsaquella

no doubt that mix on d is main issue

in fact, pretty much no one does.

Then again, if you crap your pants you'll offend a lot more than two people before you get to work!!

Yea unless its a deal centered around Read I dont see it happening, and ANA has to see this with the whole Weber thing. Ryan is nowhere near Weber and we didnt budge on the kids, so if there are talks still ongoing my opinion is ANA is happy with Read being the center piece of any deal, plus prospects/picks
