I think we see him drop down to around 15...
- jak521

Perhaps. Or he becomes a big benefactor of Couts improved offensive play.

I'm far more worried about losing Carle's puck moving ability. I think that offensively, once set in the zone, they will be fine.
- Jsaquella

By the same token, Grossman and Schenn are the only 2 subpar puck movers in the starting 6.

hope i'm wrong, but he's just not going to shoot 17% every year.

in fact, pretty much no one does.

They are, but Carle did a lot of good things that they will miss.

I'd say 9.

Who says Talbot can't repeat his 19?

I guess it depend on where you see him playing.. If it were up to me... these would be the lines:

Harts-G-Voracek
Simmonds-Briere-Schenn
Read-Couts-Wellwood
Feds-Talbot-Rinaldo

Fedotenko or Talbot will be on that third line ahead of Wellwood.

I maybe the minority, but I think Homer knew he wasn't going to get Parise and Suter but he needed to play the game to drive up the price.
As for Weber as much as he really wanted Weber, I also believe he did this to keep him away from the other teams, at least in the short term.

It should not be the norm to make a big splash...IMO

- phi1671

Yea Im with you on this.....unless that Weber player becomes available, I prefer to not reshuffle the deck every year

I tend to agree...but...Wellwood was a staple on the 3rd line in the playoffs, even dropping Read to the 4th line.

I like his lines and think that's how they start off. But I personally prefer Jake on 2nd line and either Schenn or Read on first. I think Read really done well despite the fact that he hasn't been given any top line minutes.

Well, necessity is the mother of invention. At least, I hope so for this defense corps.

Matt Read was 6th in icetime among all Flyers forwards in icetime in the playoffs. Wellwood was 12th.

At some point you could see it. The nice thing is they have some fairly interchangeable parts. The Flyers really do have a 1st line and the makings of two very solid 2nd lines. That is the one positive with not giving up players for Weber. We just need one more top-6 winger in my mind (without losing one or two).

I'll never forgive him for his boarding call on Gagne when he was with Ottawa. It wasn't called and the Sens scored right after leaving Gagne to drop the gloves for himself.

ok.. i think he meant wellwood had certain players he played with.

I wouldnt say Read got bumped anywhere, as he seemed to play on just about every line every night..
